Lady Deidameiza

PERSONALITY

Witty, aloof and charismatic, Lady Deidameiza is a formidable and enthralling woman. With a sharp tongue and charming demeanor Deidameiza is perfectly suited to diplomacy and court life. It is highly difficult to catch her off guard, and she always seems to have some form of calculated retort or charming rebuttal, regardless of the situation. Well-read and immensely well-spoken, Deidameiza revels in debates and academic discussions. She is particularly interested in philosophical and theological discourse, and will spend hours in discussion of it. 

Although she is refined and amicable to others upon her first introduction, it takes some time for her 'true' personality to shine through, and she regards very few individuals as close friends. She is not opposed to being manipulate or underhanded in situations in order to best benefit her, and often builds social connections purely for self-benefit.
However, underneath her aloof facade Deidameiza is passionate, humorous and highly emotional. Although it takes some effort to get her worked up about something, it is highly difficult to calm her down afterwards, and in the face of circumstances she cannot change she is prone to flying into fits of rage or hysteria. It is rare that anyone sees her cry, and she finds it difficult to express sadness in the presence of others. 

APPEARANCE:

Deidameiza stands at a formidable 6'3, often heightened by heeled shoes. Slim in build and lightly muscled, she has a relatively flat chest, long legs and broad shoulders. Her features are sharp, with angular golden eyes and prominent cheekbones. Her hair is a rich red, cut to her chin at the sides and left long at the back. [See example]
She often uses white powder on her face, offset with dramatic blush, heavily made-up eyes, dark lipstick and pencil-thin eyebrows. Deidameiza takes great pride in her appearance, choosing outfits which demonstrate her opulence and decadent aesthetics. Her favourite colours to wear are rich, sultry tones - peacock green, deep purple, burgundy, midnight blue and deep gold.

When enraged or injured, Deidameiza's vampiric abilities take precedence over her appearance - although still hauntingly beautiful, she becomes somewhat monstrously warped in appearance, her pupils becoming cat-like slits, her teeth becoming more fang-like and her physique becoming sharper and gaunter. 

BACKGROUND

Deidameiza arose from extremely humble beginnings, being the only child of a lower-class - and often unwell - working woman. Although her mother would claim that Deidameiza was the result of a tumultuous affair with the formidable war-sorcerer Fevros Vordoukan, Deidameiza was never able to meet her father during her childhood. While many disregarded her mother's stories as attention seeking they were proved wrong after Deidameiza began demonstrating a profound ability for fire magicks. Realizing both the potential for greatness and extreme danger, Deidameiza's mother attempted to contact her father in order to ensure her a position in the nearest magic college. She was accepted, and spent her adolescence honing her craft.

With her natural abilities surpassing what was being taught, Deidameiza's voracious thirst for knowledge and power took her down darker routes of magick - particularly those of a destructive nature. Realizing that she did not innately possess the power for the grand destructive power she wished to hold, Deidameiza instead became obsessed with researching vampiric energy magicks. She quietly honed her knowledge and ability to siphon magick from other living beings, beginning on a small scale with siphoning magickal ability from her classmates. 

As she matured Deidameiza also discovered her profound ability for negotiation and business, advising many of her tutors on important matters. It was not long until Deidameiza was a trusted member of the High Courts, and had a comfortable position being entrusted with many high-risk court secrets. Deidameiza herself attempted to remain as mysterious as possible during this time, revealing little of her background or heritage as she still had not met her father. Many thought perhaps she was part of a foreign noble family, or perhaps a relative to the royal family. Deidameiza encouraged these rumors, reveling in her life of opulence and luxury. It was a life she would be unwilling to give up.

With her information, contacts and comfortable position in the courts Deidameiza began testing the extent of her influence. She let small pieces of information slip to her contacts - casually and cleverly. Gradually these small facts - 'rumors' she'd heard, retellings of conversations she'd walked into etc - spiraled into full-blown court scandals, resulting in the ostracization of several members of court elite. Deidameiza now had a cleared path to the position she yearned for.

Due to her vampiric capabilities Deidameiza's power only grew over the years, and her skill in battle strategy and general magick prowess gained her the attention and respect of her father, granting her the esteemed title of Lady Vordoukan and position as Lady General of the Vordoukan army.
