Silas has always struggled with his own independence and thinking for himself- often a follower, willing to do what he had to for others to like him. His world was basically shoved into stark clarity after a (relatively amicible) breakup that made him realize a lot about himself. He's trying his best to be positive and make good choices, put himself out there more, not just for him but for his son as well. He strugles to do the right things still sometimes, and worries he's not a good dad a lot, but tries not to let it show.
