Grun is a tan, slim merman with a huge wad of light blue to white tentacles.
He has long blonde hair and light blue eyes and rarely seen without makeup.
Grun wears a tight dark blue scarf around his abdomen, cincing his waist in.
About:
Grun hails from a sunken city built in and around a coral reef, it looks much like venice with buildings both above and under water. The abovegrounds are buildt with channels for mer people and walkways for surface dwellers like crabpeople, it is a closed trading port. Nobody leaves and nobody enters without consent, and then only if you are of one of the select few nations they choose to trade with.
Grun is the child of a Duke but goes about mostly forgotten, as he has around ten legitimate siblings in front of him in the line of succession and a good few behind him, but unlike his siblings, Grun is a natural at using magic.
But to his teachers dismay, he is lazy, floating on his raw talent rather than putting any effort into studying.
He does his bare minimum unless its something that genuinely interests him.
Grun also has the skill of true sight , knowing how to detect streams of magic energy and read arcane runes as a natural, something many people spend years teaching themselves.
He has a keen interest in the outside world, but since he lives in a closed port, any Mer people leaving the city is illegal.
Grun was constantly told to focus on his studies, that he'd make a great mage someday, told to ignore his sense of exploration.
So one day out of rage and curiosity he ended up breaking the law and stealing a glass key, a handful of scrolls and a fair amount of gold and pearls to flee the city to the surface with the aid of a a convicted killer he released to distract the guards.
He managed to ditch his distraction and leave him in the dust as he ran off into the crowds, using one of the scrolls to temporarily give himself legs.
Grun gets by on his magic skills to survive out of water for longer periods of time, retreating to his friends' bathtubs or the safe tidepools in the coastal towns, seeking out art and fashion shows, being completely in awe and in love of the lifestyle.
He is often sneaking in on parties and generally enjoying life.
He got a close friendship with a lot of models, dancers and artists. Grun tries to come off as someone much more elegant and mysterious than he really is.
Slowly using his gold coins and pearls to trade for human currency, he also took on a job as a kiss-o-gram and cake delivery driver. having a friend teach him how to drive a scooter and using a spell to copy a license.
Grun doesnt know much about the human world and often plays off the ditzy blonde stereotype, but he is a lot smarter than he appears. He's a complete hedonist. He will eat himself into a coma on sweet things, he loves it and since its such a hard treat to come by in the sea he pigs out completely if he gets the chance
