Amen is a very cautious individual. He recognizes his own outlandish nature and his social and intellectual differences versus others in Psyke, but is trying his best to adapt. Being a man with a limited vocabulary and a lack of confidence in his communicative skills, he's a selective mute and will likely only try speaking with those he feels close to- making his adaptations to this unfamiliar society difficult. His behaviors and mannerisms could be compared to that of a beast or animal, as instinct is the bare bone of human nature. If a stranger were to approach him unwarrented he may growl and hide away to keep his distance as he finds people to be very difficult to trust. Past his cautious exterior he is sympathetic and very caring- he will always protect those who have shown him kindness and fellowship. Those close to him would describe him as sweet and affectionate, which seems to oppose to his outward demeanor.
