With a quiet, serious demeanor, Yared tends to come off as someone who takes no nonsense — and it's an impression he rarely tries to contend. However, Yared is more than just a stern doctor. A mild-mannered and gentle person, Yared tends to feel and care deeply for the world around him and the people in it, often doing his best to try and put as much good into the space he occupies as he can. He's a scholar at heart, and it always seems like he's looking for more; it's common to see him investing a lot of his free time into further informing himself on topics that interest him, to the point where he has catalogues of knowledge about relatively niche subjects. Though he's shy, he enjoys talking about his interests, even if he can, at times, be a bit too insistent in his knowledge when he views others as being incorrect about topics he cares about.

Yet, for all the time he invests in his own interests, Yared cannot ever find it in himself to put the same amount of energy into his social life. An uncomfortable and lonely person at heart, Yared — though he has learned how to navigate the social spheres he occupies well — has a tendency to stray away from having much of an especially active social life, finding more of a comfort out in nature rather than in a lot of company. Considerably reserved, Yared tends to keep subtle, invisible barriers up between him and other people stemming from a life of unique experiences he doesn't believe others could understand, though this often manifests in him coming off as far more callous than intended. This mentality lends itself poorly to his personal life as well; Yared often struggles with being open about his feelings, and has an unfortunate tendency towards getting evasive when he feels particularly defensive, assisted by a stubborn streak that can turn into prickly obstinance at a moment's notice. Though he's gotten a lot better about it with time, he's still prone to moments of hot, barbed frustration and flares of a more stormy temperament that can make him difficult to talk to. Between that and his naturally awkward demeanor, he's often just written off as prickly and quiet — though quite competent, for what it's worth.

While he tries so, so hard to comes off as calm and even-tempered — or, at the very least placid — he struggles with intense worry and paranoia that isn't helped by the  unusual circumstances that have grown harder to ignore. While he longs for peace of mind, he remains pessimistic of that reality, and has settled with being a lonesome yet semi-amiable person.

Not overly tall and fairly stout, Yared likes to think of himself as a person that could blend easily into a crowd — which is true at times, but often not the case. With his long, wavy grey hair and pronounced features, he tends to draw eyes, whether he likes it or not. His hair, while long and voluminous, is fairly uneven in its lengths due to a series of haphazard, self-done haircuts over the course of his life, though it’s hard to notice unless you’re scrutinizing him closely. He has downturned, stormy grey eyes that are often held a bit narrowed, lending themselves to an often disinterested or tired expression that isn’t assisted by how frequently his dark eyebrows are held furrowed. His nose is moderately broad and wavy in shape, and his facial hair is kept slightly unkempt and scruffy looking, with a prominent moustache. His skin is golden-toned and variably tanned with a handful of pale scars crossing it; he’s known to have a ruddier complexion that colors his rounder face. While he’s not one to smile broadly often, when he does, there is a gap between his front teeth.

In terms of build, Yared is noticeably fat, and generally quite sturdy. Prone to working out when stressed, he has thick arms, and moderately broad shoulders, though he carries a lot of softer fat, particularly in his midsection, that obscures more obvious muscle definition. He’s considerably hairy, with dark hair covering his torso, as well as running down his arms and legs. Yared carries himself surprisingly assuredly when compared to his quiet, often dour demeanor, and typically has decent enough posture, leading to a presence that makes him seem taller than he is.
