Witches

When bugs stay in someone's head too long, a witch may form. Ultimately, a witch is the product of tons of negative emotion, and despair. It comes only when it knows that its prey is too weak from trying to battle the bugs inside their mind to fight against it. They take in the form of a hat, and the "tail" of the hat will lock backwards and wrap around the victim's neck, like a choker. In actuality, the witch is actually the hat. They're merely controlling the person, like a parasite. That choker will then tamper with the victim's throat, so that they will never be able to take it off. If they do, the choker will cut into a major artery, and they would die. Usually, that's not a problem, because the victim is usually possessed as soon as the hat is placed on the head. Then, the witch will begin its possession of the person, stylizing itself into the emotion that lead to the victim's downfall. There are multiple types of witches. There's the mental, physical, environmental and so on! What type of witch it is depends on the cause of the victim's stress. No matter what a witch will wear, the victim will always look close to dead. While the witch is virtually indestructible, save for the collar on its neck, the witch will constantly be afflicted with the victim's greatest negative emotion, and they will do anything at all costs to find some way of alleviating the stress. If the witch is cursed with paranoia, it'll kill anything and anyone it deems suspicious. If the witch is angry, it will destroy anything it can in a wild rage. If it is depressed, it just may destroy the earth in an attempt to find a way to stop itself. Even if there are only twenty witches in a country, it will wind up destroying thousands of homes, people, and families. They are extremely dangerous, and most developed countries have largely eradicated them. However, Yarsivec is not much of a developed country, and it has not been able to develop fully due to the vast number of witches in the land. Many inhabitants are constantly harassed by the witches tainting the land. In fact, they're harassed so much that sometimes, even those inhabitants become witches themselves. Sometimes witches will be referred to its original name by the elderly inhabitants; daemons.
