Breif Backstory

Larkwing was born in a very different world than he lives now. In a forgotten Clan in the mountains, Larkkit and Snowkit were born to Fernstrike. Growing up without a father, or even knowing his name, the two toms fell into a rythym- Snowkit at the front and center and Larkkit hanging off to the side to watch. Fernstrike gave Snowkit a little more attention than Larkkit, for reasons unknown, so the dark-pelted tom grew distant and reserved, always in the back of the group and watching others. After moons of being an apprentice, Larkpaw earned his warrior name of Larkwing alongside Snowfleck.

Later on, a pretty tan tabby caught his eye for the first time. Outgoing, focused, and driven the she-cat had him hooked. Her ambition inspired him, and the two formed a bond deep in the cave on the mountain. Corruption broke out amongst the clans, and to escape this Larkwing and Willowstripe left their home and their families to find a new place to call their own. Now the pair reside in BreezeClan with a new group of Clans that accepted them in with kindness. Larkwing has learned to open up, becoming more unafraid to speak and be heard, and he's happier than he ever could have though possible.

IDK what to call this yet

Larkkit and Snowkit, two opposites in every way, were born to Fernstrike in the chilly winter air of a mountain clan. The air outside was always cold, bringing snow and irritable personalities with it. Inside the cave, littered with glowing moss, the cats of the clan brought warmth. Even in this frigid landscape, kits were born, apprentices trained, and warriors grew into their own ranks as loyal members. Within this close-knit community, Larkkit still found himself cold and closed off to others around him. His brother outshining him in seemingly every way and Larkkit took his place in the background.

Growing up as a second wasn't easy. Larkkit worked just as hard as his brother, they played together and became apprentices together. The two trained side by side and sat vigil together in the chilly breeze outside the cave entrance, but Larkwing had never recieved the same treatment. Other clan members respected the brothers the same, they both worked hard and helped, but even those outside their family felt Snowfleck offered more. He was stronger, he brough back larger prey, he was suave and not afraid to speak his mind. Larkwing's dark fur helped him blend into the background even more. Though the thoughts of others never bothered him as much as the own look he could see in his mother's eyes.

Fernstrike was a good warrior, clearly respected and liked in the clan. She was strong, a good hunter, and brought two strong kits into the world. As good a warrior she was, she was not a great mother. In the beginning of his life, Larkkit didn't recognize the difference in looks between himself and his brother. As they grew up he could see the change. Snowfleck brough joy, pride, and admiration to his mother's eyes. But her glances to him brought a deeper, underlying sense of unease. She loved him, she let both of her sons know that, but she couldn't get her words to hide the message hidden in her looks. The reservations when Larkwing would speak or engage, her eagerness to praise and boast of Snowpaw's progress in his training and forgetful mention of his own achievements. It was almost like she had been blind to the feelings as well, the feelings Larkwing didn't know how to rationalize. There was no reason, he'd worked as hard as his brother, but it seemed any of his attempts turned up futile in recieving the same respect from his mother.

Larkwing quickly learned to handle his emotions, the differences in his family, to burry the jealeaously and quiet resentment of his own brother that churned in his gut. They grew up, they became warriors, and he had a job to do. Provide for his clanmates, protect them, feed them, and earn their respect which he did. Larkwing became a quality warrior in his clan and didn't mind his job of bringing up the rear of patrols or spending later nights on guard duty. Being alone and quiet became his comfortable, almost to the point that he'd go a few days without speaking more than a few words to his clanmates. They didn't seem to mind, they all communicated just fine, and got along well. However, peace couldn't last forever.

Larkwing's first change came when he'd just become a warrior. He found himself right in the middle of a conversation with Willowpaw, Hollowpaw, and Snowfleck. The two were a few moons younger than the toms, their mothers were good friends and so they'd been able to play with them as kits and shared the apprentice den for a time. It'd become a good group, the four of them falling into a rythym Larkwing was comfortable with. It seemed though that as they aged, Willowpaw was on the forefront of his mind more and more. He found himself glad to be on patrols with the she-cat and was one of the first to congratulate her on her warrior name. Willowstripe brought out more of him than he'd known in a long time, and she didn't seem to have the same sense of basic coexistance with Larkwing. They were friends, they cared for eachother, and eventually that culminated in something more.

Larkwing and Willowstripe grew into a very comfortable rhythm of sharing tounges and food at night after the day's duties and sleeping close together in the Warrior's Den. He grew more comfortable with himself and it seemed Willowstripe learned more of her own limits and grew as a cat as well. Their personailities, though so different, brought out the best of eachother. Larkwing was there for her during her mother's passing, through the difficulty with her sister, and eventually through the destruction of their home. Corruption can weed its way into any place, no matter the community, and this is what tore their clan apart. Abuse of power, neglect, lies and more culminated in arguements, fights and more. Hostilities rose within the clan over little things at first, growing into full blown chaos. With so much lost to Willowstripe, her sister now missing, and Larkwing finding the ties to his family growing thinner, the two cats slipped out of the clan one night and never returned.

The journey for the two cats was tough, having to make their way out of their home territory and away from the other clans in the valley. They couldn't stay or join another clan in the area, they both decided that finding a new home together was better than remanining in a place with more painful memories. Their jounrey took many moons, the two mountain cats finding life outside a clan harder than they thought. Having to find food for themselves, defend just eachother, and work together to find a new home. Eventually they made their way to a safe place, and with the kindness of a clan found there, they joined BreezeClan as warriors. This entire new group of clans was a welcome change to their previous hardships and they quickly found their place within their clan.

Willowstripe [ Mate ]

Willowstripe is the best part of Larkwing. She's a strong, confident, and very hardworking cat who has taught him more about himself than he thought possible. She's given him courage to be his own cat and he's found more of a home in her company and love than he ever truly felt from his blood family.

Larkwing is completely and utterly in love with Willowstripe and he works hard to show it. He finds everything about her beautiful and could go on for hours talking about her, though he wouldn't really have anyone to do so with. She's given him a new purpose and helped him find himself. He considers himself one of the luckiest cats in the world to know her and be able to love her, and having their kits together is one of the best things he could have asked for. In the beginning, he found the idea of fatherhood terrifying and daunting. They'd been surprised by her pregnancy, but eventually he came to be excited for the idea. Willowstripe and Larkwing now take care of their two living kits, having dealt with the passing of one of their children.

Fernstrike [ Mother ]

Fernstrike has always had a distant relationship with Larkwing, and he knows this. He has accepted this and now doesn't even really see it as an issue. Larkwing has never known why their relationship is so strained, but he loves his mother. She raised him and his brother, and truly did show him a good life, just not an equal one. He could always pick up on her little changes in mood when arund him, almost like walking on briars as to not prick her paw. She was one of the reasons he found it a little hard to leave the clan with Willowstripe, but he was able to push back the hesitation. Now, he doesn't know where she is or if she is alive, and he finds himself wishing she were around to see her grandkits. It's a bittersweet feeling.

Snowfleck [ Brother ]

Snowfleck is one of the cats Larkwing has the most struggle processing. He's his brother, he loves him and cares for him, but he really dislikes the white-pelted tom. His brother was like a constant reminder of the things he didn't have or couldn't do, and he was never humble about it. As young cats Snowpaw never let Larkpaw forget who was better, stronger, faster, etc. The two grew up together, and have a bond any siblings have, but as they became warriors they became almost like strangers. Hardly ever talking, working together on patrols when they needed to and not out of any real desire to spend time with eachother. Snowfleck seemed to be embarassed of his brother, and Larkwing never mindning not having to hear his boastful speeches. He does want to know how Snowfleck is doing after he left home, but it doesn't bother him too much not knowing.

Rosetuft [ Close Friend ]

Rosetuft is one of Larkwing's greatest friends in BreezeClan. The medicine cat was among the most welcoming and kind to the two new arrivals, offering friendship and caring for them as they recovered from their journey. She became a quick companion to both Willowstripe and Larkwing and has been since. Her wisdom and compassion has been a guiding paw on more than one occasion. Rosetuft is also the sister of Kestrelwing, previously Kestrelstar when Larkwing and Willowstripe arrived at the clan. He'd welcomed them in, given them a home, and Larkwing has been grateful to both.

Kestrelwing [ Friend ]

Kestrelwing is a very kind tom, and was Kestrelstar when Larkwing met him. The tom was leader of BreezeClan and was more than willing to give the two traveling cats a place to call home. He brought them in, showed them extreme kindness, and for this Larkwing will always consider him a friend. Larkwing finds Kestrelwing easy to talk to, and once it was known that he was stepping down from his position as leader he was shocked. He'd done such a great job but of course he supported the tom's decision. In an unexpected twist, Kestrelwing had manged to find Willowstripe's sister, and the two became mates. Hollowsong had found her own way to BreezeClan and fallen for Kestrelwing, who Larkwing is now glad to consider family.

Hollowsong [ Sister-In-Law ]

Hollowsong was a friend of Larkwing's when they were younger. She is Willowstripe's sister and was always very kind to Larkwing. Though the she-cat had her own issues during her mother's passing, and a run-in with a devious loner, he cared for her like a sister. When Larkwing and Willowstripe left their home, Hollowsong had gone missing. It was hard for his friend to just have vanished, and even harder on Willowstripe, but they'd decided to leave anyways. It seemed that StarClan led her back to them however, becasue Hollowsong joined BreezeClan moons after Larkwing and Willowstipe, except she was pregnant and sharing tongues with Kestrelstar. He was overjoyed to know she was safe and had returned to their lives.

Buzzardkit
Peakkit
✩Palekit✩
[ Children ]

Larkwing's kits are his pride and joy. He is aboslutely in love with them and doesn't think his heart could hold an ounce more of pride if he tried. After an accident while Willowstripe was pregnant, two of the three kits survived birth. Palekit was still-born and the loss of their child rocked Larkwing and Willowstripe furing the first few moons of the kits lives. They grew to accept it, and have loved their remaining two kits as much as any parent could.

Buzzardkit took after Larkwing, his dark brown pelt a reflection of his father, with a personality to match. The little tom is reserved, quiet, and definiely the back of the pair. His sister has to push him into trouble, and Larkwing can see himself reflected in his son, to a point he's growing concerned for him. After the way he grew up, Larkwing does his best to be there for his son and make sure he's the father that he'd never had himself.

Peakkit is a spitfire and has the beautiful markings of Willowstripe, with the pelt similar to her grandmother. Lilybreeze's coat can be seen through Peakkit's fur and Larkwing feels like he can tell that his mate thinks of her mother when looking at their daughter. Peakkit was named after the peak where Willowstripe and Larkwing had truly connected and she was a wonderful reminder of their history. Though he can tell she's going to cause trouble for the clan, and he can feel his muzzle greying at the thought, but her spirit and joy brightens anyone's day. He's proud of her strength and can see Willowstripe in her personality.
