Nanaq is the mother of Pheonix and when she was young, she used to live in a tribe. She had 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
At a certain moment in time, her tribe was attacked and not many survived. Including some of her brothers and one sister.
They struggled to get by because the lands around them were being build on. So she pleaded with a king to let her people have a part of the lands for themselves. He agreed and in return she had to marry him, but she fell in love with his best friend (Who was the king of the neighbouring country that she was technically from). Instead she married the king she loved, got land for her tribe to live on, and got three sons.

When she first met him she found him amusing. Curious about him she slowly started to fall in love the longer they spent more time together. She was torn between her feelings for him and her duty to her tribe. Though once they receive a letter with Razkin's blessings they happily become a couple.
They've been married for many years and she keeps Aer on his toes with daily training.

Originally she was supposed to marry him in order to help her tribe. She didn't love him and it was more like a duty to her. It surprised her greatly when he supposedly send a letter giving his blessing to her and Aer to get together.
