Wide-eyed and often seen as 'spacy,' Mara feels empty. She doesn't know who she used to be, and she struggles to know who she should be. She often finds her self floating around the living world, watching their lives go on and hoping to find something her spirit feels an attachment to. She's typically mellow, but if she falls too far into her thoughts of feeling lost, she becomes filled with rage and grief.
When interacting with others, she likes to talk about their life before death. Her interest in what used to be is a little off putting to the ghosts who enjoy being dead, but some indulge her or pity her.
Once she becomes on better terms with her death and her past, she becomes more lively and focused on enjoying her afterlife. She's often smiling and found taking care of things. She enjoys being out in nature and digging her toes in the dirt or sand.

She has pale-mint colored flowy long hair. Cyan green skin. Floor-length butterfly blue dress with long sleeves. She's often barefoot but occasionally manifests flats to match. She has minty and blue ghost particles following her.

BACKSTORY

I'm Dead?
She still thought she was alive for a short. She only figured she was suffering amnesia. She asked oddly dressed humans for help finding the nearest hospital. They were confused by her question, but helped anyhow. As she tried to recieve help from staff, no one seemed to acknoledge her. She lost her temper the longer she seemed to be ignored, and as she stared straight at one of the workers, she accidentally took control of them. She was frightened by their eyes glowing pale green and yelling her words back at her in her own voice. She fled the scene and tried to go to the restroom to spash water upon her face, but she couldn't open the door. She was filled with panic to finally notice how transparent she seemed to be. She exited the building, following another oddly dressed human. She asked the question she already feared, and got her answer.
Who Am I?As she was trying to accept that she was dead, and figure out what she wanted to do with her afterlife, she began to realize she didn't know who she was. It sent her into a crisis, and she named herself Mara due to her bitterness and sorrow. Mara began dedicating her time to trying to figure out who she used to be, so she could figure out what she wanted to do. She found a ghosty friend willing to stick with her as she searched for answers.

Friend
Laelynn is sometimes difficult to work with when she doesn't take things seriously, but she's still a great friend. In the beginning Laelynn desired to get Mara to see the afterlife as she had-- fun and full of opportunities. She enjoys using her ghosty powers and pursuades Mara to use them as well, though Mara only utilizes her ability to control bodies so she can communicate with the living world. Laelynn eventually realizes how much it means to Mara to find out who she was as a living person, so she agrees to help her find something from Mara's past that her soul would be tied to.

Q: Why doesn't she like to use her powers?
A: Mara finds it wrong to take control of the living, but when she's trying to communicate with them to find out about her past, she finds it necessary to do.

Q: What about her past makes her so happy in the afterlife?
A: When Mara realizes she wasn't able to do what she liked when she was live, she determines she won't let anyone rob her of her simple joys in her afterlife.

- ● *Her full name is "Mara the Ghost" because she doesn't remember her actual name
- ● She eventually finds the item her soul is tied to-- a diary detailing her everyday life and feelings about what she's expected to do vs. what she wants to do.
- ● Mara is in a paranormal book and known as "Lady Curious" due to her always asking questions. The book notes her as taking over her victims, giving them glowing mint-colored eyes, to communicate with the living. There's a slightly accurate drawing of how they believe she looks.
