Personality

stoic, quiet, and mysterious looking, but often blunt and honest- ze say what's on zir mind regardless of the appropriateness of the comment. ze are polite toward others but tries not to get too close.ze like to be in control, and feel very insecure when ze aren't. they stick diligently to a single routine and state of things and are overcome with stress when it is disturbed. there's also a wilder, more animalistic part to zem that only comes out when ze get riled up...

ze spend pretty much all zir time working at grizz co as a full-timer. ze enjoy their work fully, and can be bold and a bit brutal during their shifts, tearing through hordes of salmonids. even so, ze can be pretty calm and cool toward newcomers joining grizz co, and are more than happy to show them the ropes. sometimes, ze are even excited to see how newcomer's first shifts go.

Backstory

as a child, ze were always a bit jittery and active, and often times violent and destructive, breaking toys, getting in fights. they had a lot of problems staying still and handling their energy in a constructive way. their sibling, brandi, was extremely sick all throughout zir childhood. eventually, zir two mothers divorced (although amicably), which would split needle from brandi for quite a long time, as they couldn't leave home in order to deal with their illness. the mother who had taken custody of zem would go on to find a husband, with whom she had another child, hive. zir half sibling would get a lot more of zir parents attention from that point on, which often left needle feeling neglected. soon they couldn't bear to be at home anymore. the first chance they got, with their new job as a part-timer at grizz co, they moved out of their house and into inkopolis.

zir partner. at first, needle found law to be extremely difficult and a nuisance (and beautiful), and was confused as to what they did to invoke such a bitter response from him when they worked together. soon they realized... he actually had feelings for zem. this was even more confusing. it would take them another while to get used to him, and understand zir own feelings. they now live a domestic life together, and is more than capable of dealing with law's spicy behavior.

brandi

zir older sister. ze had always felt a great distance between them in their younger years, since brandi was very weak as a child, but as they got stronger, needle was thankful to actually have them in their life, with their guidance and understanding of zir quirks. even though needle fell out of contact with them for a while after moving to inkopolis, they've reconnected. nowadays, ze make an effort to be around them, thankful for another chance to have a genuine bond with them.

hive

zir younger sibling. ze have a hard time talking to and relating to them, but ze are slowly trying to reacclimate zemself to their presence, and work on the issues ze had with them in zir youth.
