Yue was born into an affluent family, living in a mansion for most of his life. This led to his quiet sheltered upbringing, as he didn't have many other kids to interact with growing up. He was home schooled his whole life, but eventually convinced his parents to allow him to go to school in the city, with some parameters. They bought him a full house to live in, as well as hired someone to go in every week to help him with any chores that need to be done, although he tries his best to do them himself before they show up, as to not give them more work. 

He's currently a Herpetology specialist, even though it wasn't necessary for him to work. He still has difficulty making friends, mostly just having a few acquaintances from his classes. He works part time at an animal shelter, since he finds it easier to interact with animals rather than other people.
