Vici is carefree and charming, always able to gain information from even the most shut-lipped of individuals due to his seemingly endless sense of allure. Magnetic to an unsettling degree, Vici is always surrounded by people who find themselves drawn to her existence in and of itself. There isn't much that could effectively wipe the ever-present grin on Vici's face; projecting a devil-may-care attitude, the zodiac's Cat pulls off any missions assigned with a nonchalant ease no matter what.

Trivia

  • Their birth name, Diệu, means "mysterious", "subtle," and/or "exquisite" in Vietnamese. The moniker Vici comes from the Latin term veni vidi vici: "I came, I saw, I conquered".
  • Vici's ears are slightly modelled after a lynx/lynx cat. In mythology, lynxes often symbolizing unveiling a hidden truth, which is the main motivation of Vici's character after he discovers the reincarnation cycle and its rules ...

Equal parts tolerable and tolerant, Vici is a freeloader who prefers to see life as a series of laidback, low-effort events in succession. If he had his way, there's little doubt that the musician with too many side gigs would whittle his time away by doing nothing much other than napping. Though Vici often spends his work hours not doing whatever he needs to than actually doing it, he's someone who nonetheless finishes the task to completion and perfection. So, really, there's nothing to complain about ... right?

Though their attitude on life is very carefree and childish, Vici is the kind of person who believes in debts due and debts owedβ€” you scratch their back, they scratch yours. As such, despite it being extremely difficult to accrue their trust, once you have it? It's yours to keepβ€” up until Vici thinks it's ample to revoke it. But if you give them enough reason to trust you to that extent, you'll have their loyalty until the end of time. Mostly, however, their loyalty is conditional. Nothing is messier than emotional connection, but the low-budget version of a mutual give-and-take is something much more comforting and familiar.

Vici's nonchalant take on life may not mash well with others, though if you were to ask her, Vici would give a noncommittal shrug and wave it off. She's not too big on conflict, and does her best to avoid it. Arguing with others, as is with everything else in life, is just too much of a hassle to actually bother getting into it. Most of the time, when people take issue or attempt to start a spat, they're the first one to dash out of the scene β€” mainly just because it's a pain in the tail to get involved in scandals or scuffles. Unfortunately, this causes some people to label them as cowardly, or non-confrontational. In actuality, they just really don't care.

Dulcet tones and saccharine clichΓ©s, Vici speaks as if they purr out every word, in a nature nearing theatrics. There's a lingering suspicion that everything coming from his lips is artificial. Manufactured. And you'd be right in that sense: Vici is a smooth-talker. He likes to get what he wants without resorting to physical meansβ€” and he's good at it. They're not the type of person who is above flirting to get what they desire, and she's more than happy to whisper sweet nothings to strangers if it means she can manipulate them into doing this or giving that.

In all truth, despite maintaining a charming, lax attitude, Vici is facetious; they hide much of their true self behind this likeable persona of a ditzy, lazy musician. Underneath all of this is someone naturally distrusting, and who is more than willing to use people for their own selfish gains. They've been taught only one thing in all their years of living: this world is every man for himself.

And they'll be damned if they ever allow themself to be on the receiving end of that lesson again.

Relations.

The Rabbit

The Rabbit and The Cat share a complicated history. As each other's reciprocal shadow, there's little that the two don't already know about one another. Having spent lifeimes together, Vici isn't sure of how to feel about Lorelai, but does know one thing: whatever these emotions are, they are intense and possessive. In their current life, they find themselves at an impasse; The Rabbit resigned to its life of victimhood, and The Cat with a lingering want to keep trying despite the consequences.

The Mouse

The Cat and The Mouse are nearly inseparable. If you don't see Vici with Lorelai or performing locally, chances are, they'll be with Peony. The two of them share a similar chaotic energy spurred on by an ennui of having already done everything they can or would like to do in their respective positions. When together, they seem to satiate one another's boredom ... but this is ultimately at everyone else's expense, as they also enable each other like nobody's business.

The God

I'll tear you down from that seat you call your throne and claw out what you stole from me soon. I'll rip you to shreds, limb to limb, an eye for an eye. I swear it, I swear it, I swear it. I'll eat myself whole again from the carrion remains of what I'll do to you.

Backstory.

The God of the zodiac is a lonely role, watching above as its subjects carry on the family's will. The God of the zodiac severs himself from the thread of humanity, always-present but never mortal. The God of the zodiac is a role played by one; lonely, lonely.

Born initially as the original Shangdi of the ShΔ“ngxiΓ o, due to various circumstances in his first life, Vici is now the zodiac's Cat: an interloper to his own establishment, a stranger in his own skin. Playing his role as disconcertingly as they are able to, Vici makes it none too apparent that he's waiting for the right time to strike and reclaim his proper placeβ€”β€”not out of misguided arrogance, but a need to right has been wronged; a need to see his loved ones smile again.

In his role as The Cat, Vici is always born as af Feles Diệu of the mighty af Feles clan. After his family falls due to political conflict amongst the ruling families of the country. Disguising himself as a simple gardener's apprentice, Diệu would go on to shed himself of that name and infiltrate the confined of the LΓ clan, hoping to one day enact his revenge on the family by robbing them of their futures as well.

During this time, the young gardener would, on multiple occasions, happen upon the precocious fourth child of the LΓ clan. Unbeknownst to either of them, the two were wound tightly by a thread of fate which bound them together in every lifetime. This, too, was merely the universe's machinations (and a foolish godling's wish, once upon a time) in play. Vici mellows out considerably over the years, opting instead to run away to elope with Lorelai as his act of revenge against her family.

But ...

Meeting the new 'god' of the ShΔ“ngxiΓ o halts whatever potential happily ever afters the two may have achieved.

... And ...

... There isn't anything Vici wouldn't do to ensure that the future he once grazed over is safely nestled in his fingertips again.
