Personality:

  Adina is sweet but sort of vain (as mermaids tend to be) she is playfully mischevious and very convincing when she wants to have her way. She has a child-like spirit and innocence but is easily scared off by new people and experiences however if she tries something or meets someone she likes she becomes very possessive and almost addicted to it. Very sensitive to reprimands. 

Bio:

  Adina was born a mute. This made her an outcast amongst the mermaids, her own mother often saying that a mute mermaid was hardly a mermaid at all. Unnapreciated and considered stupid by her own kind she spent little time with them under the ocean and would often break to the surface to sunbathe. 

   She was 12 when she was too close to the surface and got caught up in a fisherman's net by accident. The fisherman being Tommy's father with Tommy assisting in his trade. Catching a mermaid was a rare sight and he took her home as his prized possession. He placed her in a small pond they had in their backyard which became her new home. 

  She was terrified but slowly started to open up to Tommy's kindness towards her. He would bring her pretty rocks and shells and combs for her hair and to decorate and also taught her sign language. His father wished to make a small fortune off of her, showing her off to any visitors that may come for a small fee.

  Finding out she was a mute, however, didn't give him as much profit as he would have hoped since what people wanted the most was to hear the mermaid sing. He tried to make up for it by teaching her tricks and forcing her to perform them but it wasn't making much money. Tommy hated seeing Adina treated this way as they became close over the years and Adina was easily scared by the strangers. 

  Tommy finally managed to free her when she turned 15 by saving up enough money to buy her off his dad. Tommy took her to the ocean but she didn't want to leave him. They managed to find an enchantment that granted her legs and they ran away to a desserted island where they got married and lived happily in the house he built near the beach.
