Nao Ito was born and sold off at an early age to the Japanese Mafia in order to train as a bodyguard/assassin. He was eventually traded between the Japanese and Russian mafia as a show of good faith and repayment of a debt. Nao arrived in Russia at around age 12 and was made into an assassin for the Sokolov family. He would later become Luka's bodyguard rather than an assassin for the family, allowing him to gain an actual identity rather than the nameless generic personality he had adopted for his job.
