Practically everyone has heard of Ayame Matsumoto’s name at one point. Her face has appeared on everything from magazine covers to bus station ads, usually accompanied with the name of her father’s famous restaurant chain, Fleur-de-Lis. Not only that, but she’s also the universally-loved student council president. On the surface, she’s seemingly perfect, always having a confident smile on her face and an elegant, mysterious demeanor. However, almost nobody knows about the true Ayame, beneath the mask.

When everyone else is gone, Ayame is a painfully shy, reserved young woman who fears crowds and has a hard time communicating with people. She has almost no self-esteem, let alone any friends, despite being so popular. She’s constantly paranoid that if she does or says the wrong thing, it would tarnish everyone’s image of her. However, she cherishes the compliments of her fans, and wishes that she could do anything to repay their affection. As such, Ayame has decided to try and become a better leader for the sake of everyone who cares about her. She also wishes to be better at communication despite always being paranoid over saying the right thing. Therefore, her friend Suisen helps her improve with communication skills.

Having spent her whole life sheltered, Ayame is quite clueless about everyday traditions and practices. She doesn’t know that you can drink juice from a can, what arcades are, or even how to dress herself. Ayame is embarrassed over her lack of independence and constantly worries over how she’ll fend for herself in the future. A bad habit of hers is easily getting lost, even when using a map, and she will need somebody to escort her to the place she needs to be. Ayame constantly apologizes if she feels like she’s a burden but is reassured by her friends that she’s fine.
