Vannari was born to Anaku and Nakinarru; The firstborn and unfortunately the beginning of her mother's deathly descent. Narru named her Vannari after the Antidote plant Vannar; in hopes she would be the cure to the darkness she saw within the tribe.

Vannari spent the first year by her mother's side, and grew very attached to her and her stories of the OtherSide. However this didn't last because Narru was soon pregnant again with Vannari's sister.

After the new baby was born things took a dark turn. Narru grew very weak and ill, Anaku refused to let Vannari see her mother and abandoned the baby Narru had delivered. The cripple who Narru had named Lily. Vannari wanted nothing to do with the baby at first, she just wanted mother back.

Eventually Vannari realized Anaku wasn't even feeding Lily and Vannari caved. She knew Narru wouldn't have wanted this so Vannari started to take her own portions and give most of it to Lily. From that moment on, Lily was her sole responsibility.

When Vannari was of age she was put out with the other kids. Seperated from Lily and her Father; she thought it would be lonely... Boy was she wrong

It seemed to have happened Instantly, some sick twisted game of fate. The Chieftans daughter, Tawaka had noticed her and just Declared they were best friends. Vannari... Did not know how to respond to this. But she would soon learn this was a Very bad thing.

Vannari went to her tent that night to sleep to find it on fire and turning the doll her mother gave her to ash. Tawaka wanted her best friend to sleep in HER tent so she had burned down Vannaris. This was the beginning of Vannari's living Hell.

Vannari had NO chance to make friends as Tawaka would make sure she was ALWAYS with her. If she ran off, she was ratted out for lolligagging and Anaku punished her.

Her life... didn't get better. for one. Her "Roomate" snored ALL night, was a kicker, and ate 90% of thier food portions. This was made even worse as Tawaka had started getting Vannari's food portion as well. Meaning she was basically stuck eating scraps of her own food. Vannari learned to wear a face of numbness as Tawaka only wanted a reaction out of her. Shed give up eventually if Vannari said nothing

A year later, Lily joined the group and Vannari desperately wanted to sleep with her instead. But nope. Lily got thier tent to herself, the tent Tawaka had burned. So Vannari was stuck with the Princess from Hell, while her sister slept outside in the cold.

.... It happened. They were talking about Bloodlines in class. Anaku started getting pointed out as Lily's father. The lame kid, the legacy stain and it Infuriated him. He decided to do something about it. Something that could never be taken back. He took the carving knife to his Daughters face. The tool to skin a deers pelt, he used to mutilate Vannari's marks and the brutal treatment broke her. She Cried. Real tears of Agony and Fear that she could not hold in. Anaku responded by bashing her head agaisnt the floor as punishment. Infecting her with Madness and brain damage. This was when the Healers discovered her condition, the blood wouldnt stop. They had to sew her marks shut, leaving a janky scar under both her eyes.

When Anaku had banned her from being around Lily that didn't stop Vannari. She snuck out every night to take care of her sister. Determined to keep her alive.
