Personality

Antaeus is a young shy tom who isn't quite sure of the world. It doesn't help that La Beaute du Printemps has changed so much since he first joined. Now a cat he once thought was his friend, Reine Rafale, seems to distrust him and gave him a less-than-desirable position. Despite this, he knows that he's not alone. He has his mate, Cosmos, and that's all he needs. As long as they have one another, then there's nothing they can't overcome. And now that they have a bundle of kits to love and adore, Antaeus can't be happier.

Appearance

Antaeus is a short, lithe brown-and-white tom with short fur. He has heterochromia, the upper half of his eyes being yellow and the lower half being teal.

Story

Antaeus doesn't remember much before joining La Beaute du Printemps. Maybe it's on purpose. Regardless, shortly before he joined, he wandered around a nearby valley, hunting and sleeping where he could. One day, he came across a patrol led by then Madame Stoat, who invited him to join La Beaute du Printemps. He gladly accepted, thankful to have a place to live.

His life was rather peaceful once he joined La Beaute du Printemps. He wasn't forced to fight and instead helped where he could. He didn't have much of a struggle getting to know the other cats. Despite all of this, he didn't feel like he belonged. It didn't help that he had constant nightmares of large beasts attacking him and cats he can't name. Life did get a bit easier when he got to know another tom who went by Cosmos. He was funny and had no problem standing up for himself. It wasn't long until Antaeus had a crush on Cosmos.

That was when everything changed. Bramble murdered then Mademoiselle Flurry and made himself Roi of La Beaute du Printemps. Antaeus was made a Gardien and had to watch the prisonniers. Antaeus hated violence, but he was rather trustworthy so he guessed that was why he was made a Gardien. He despised his job, although it wasn't terrible. It gave him more time to spend with Cosmos, and during this time, they finally became mates. Even though he wasn't a big fan of Roi Bramble, life was getting better.

One fateful day in early fall, Flurry returned and overthrew Roi Bramble, making herself Reine. Antaeus didn't think he had done anything wrong, but Reine Flurry for some reason distrusted the young tom. Antaeus hopes to earn her trust, but that doesn't seem likely. At least with a less demanding job, he might be able to settle down and have a litter of kits with Cosmos, although he is terrified that something would happen to them.

At the end of fall, Antaeus and Cosmos both agreed that they'd like to have a litter of kits. Reine Rafalle told them to go to the Cave of Starry Pools and ask Les Etoiles for a litter of kittens, and the next morning, there were two newborns. The two were over the moon and decided to name them Orion and Hermès. Antaeus adores his sons and loves every moment he spends with them. However, late at night when all are asleep, he feels uneasy, as if he's forgetting something - or someone.

Antaeus doesn't have much time to spend thinking about what he's forgetting as on the first day of winter, the kingdom found a kit. Without hesitation, Antaeus and Cosmos agreed to take in the kit and named him Furet. Antaeus often wonders who Furet's parents are and how they're doing, but it doesn't matter. They're his parents now. Although it is a bit of a struggle taking care of the young kit due to his lack of teeth, Antaeus wouldn't trade him for the world.
