I'm not cynical, life just sucks.
A cynical loner from the Deadlands. Reluctant to hook up with any pack for too long, he was finally persuaded by his friend Cameron to join Specter Pack. He's sarcastic, manipulative, and paranoid. His survivalist ways have proven useful, though, as he is often the one who can get the pack out of bad situations.
History: Early Years
Born in the Deadlands during the height of the Darkness. With famine and war rampant in that region, October was forced to develop a survival-first mindest. A master at manipulation and deceit, he frequently hired himself out as a scavenger, often betraying the packs who hired him so he could steal their resources for himself. This self-centered way of life soon attracted the attention of Meelanik who offered to let October become one of his followers (having to do any favor the dark spirit asks of him at any time) in exchange for always having enough food and protection to keep him alive. October accepted without hesitation
History: Adulthood
Towards the end of the Darkness, October left his homeland behind and journeyed east into the forests and valleys of those regions. There, he met Specter Pack for the first time. While reluctant to join them at first, he eventually befriended their healer, Cameron, who persuaded him to stay with the pack. His new packmates have a hard time trusting him, knowing that he's very likely to betray them if presented with the right opportunity. While he generally doesn't believe in forming long-term relationships, he has become close friends with Cameron, whose optimism and willingness to see the best in everyone helps October learn to see the world in a more hopeful light again.
Appearance
A small, desert-built tokota with a slender foxy build. He has a bright orange coat with white markings underneath and black accents. Blue-green eyes, sharp fangs, and a bushy tail.
Personality
Hardened by the years he's spent looking out for himself, doing whatever it takes to ensure his own survival and safety, has made him very cynical. October is extremely distrustful of others, always assuming they are out to hurt him; this wreaks havoc on any relationships he tries to form. Because of this, Cameron is really his only friend. While he has a difficult time expressing himself outwardly, his internal emotions can be intense. He doesn't have a ton of impulse control, often jumping into a situation without thinking it through first. He is really good at puzzles, especially math and logic puzzles.
Spirit Guide
October has promised his loyalty to Meelanik, the spirit of greed and hunger. This promise ensures his own safety and well-being, but also means that he must do any favor Meelanik demands of him at any time. October fears growing attached to anyone because it could place them in danger if Meelanik demands he sacrifice them.

The Darkness

Meeting Specter Pack
While on a mission of his own, October happened to meet Cameron and saw an opportunity to use the naive young tokota for his own gain. Despite his initial betrayal of Cameron, the two eventually bonded and became close friends, with Cameron inviting October to join Specter Pack. (Story link to be added)
The Deal
Seeing how attached October had become to Cameron, Meelanik decided to put their friendship to the test by forcing October to complete an impossible mission to save his friend's life. October agreed, under the condition that if he won, Meelanik would release him from his promise. (Story link to be added)
Soul Spirit
October's soul companion is a dark spirit named Ayaz, who takes the form of a raven whenever he makes himself visible. While in his spirit form, only October can see and hear him. He is a manipulative creature and will quickly draw October back towards the dark side anytime he's tempted to turn good.
