Backstory
Baptiste used to be bullied in secondary school because he was shy and fell in love with the wrong guy who made fun of him. He got used to being alone and left apart.
He didn't completely recover, and developed trust issues and an asocial character. Though he doesn’t feel self-hatred anymore, he doesn’t want to get attached to someone anymore because he feels like he’ll be betrayed, other people are not sincere, and that’s why he systematically rejects everyone, even becoming distant with his family.
Now he’s in high school, his classmates just acknowledge his presence and talk to him only out of necessity because they think he’s a lost cause after all their attempts to socialize him (sometimes with extroverts’ methods like trying to force him to go to parties, shopping, go to public places with a lot of hustle bustle) failed.
Mattis, a dragonfly guy from another class and a friend of some of Baptiste’s classmates, heard of him and thought it would be fun to try and hit on him, without knowing about his past, mostly to make him uncomfortable and to annoy him since Baptiste gets easily annoyed with people. But unfortunately, he was so patient and perseverant when trying, that Baptiste, who at first ignored him, started to like Mattis’ attention.
And then there are two different stories with this base.
Personality
Grumpy. Mostly. He's a tsundere, but not the violent kind, and it takes A LOT of patience and perseverance to get accepted by him, and then to befriend him. Everyone has given up, and ironically the one person who managed to do it wasn't even serious when trying. Deep inside he still wants to feel loved again, but he doesn’t know how to interact with people anymore.

Trivia
- He actually represents my strong dislike for school group projects, and general dislike for interaction with people in a scholar environment.
- His 4 side eyes never close, but they are protected so when he sleeps he doesn't have to worry about rolling on the side.
- It also means he's always watching. But only for his own safety, nor for spying on people as these eyes don't have a very good eyesight (and he doesn't care about people). When sleeping, if they catch something abnormal he's quick to wake up.
