Name meaning: Wander

Even before her egg hatched, Rovaan’s mother left their home in the Zephyr Steppes to serve the Gladekeeper. Rovaan’s father gave no explanation as to why, and though he always did what he could to appear cheerful, Rovaan knew that he was suffering. The only time she saw him smile was when he was on the training field, teaching her and her brothers the art of combat. She loved to spar with her siblings, but more than that she was happy to make her father proud.

As time passed, Rovaan’s siblings also left to serve their chosen deities, until only Rovaan and her father remained. He was significantly older and in poor health, and Rovaan did not mind tending to him, but he was adamant that she go out in the world and use her skills in defense of a noble cause. He gave her a new name, wander, and after a tearful farewell she left the home as well.

Her wanderings brought her to the doorstep of the Tavern, thirsty for purpose and a way to make her father happy. Krahdinok allowed her to join the Tavern’s guards, but it did not take long for her to become bored with her duties and demand a more difficult task. She assigned her to the library, and at first Rovaan was furious - how can I make my father proud when I’m defending some dusty old library?- but when she got to know the reclusive librarian, things quickly began to change.

With Viintaas’ guidance, Rovaan began to see the library for what it is: an invaluable source of knowledge and collection of the worlds’ hopes, dreams, and lives. “What can be more valuable than a life, written down in ink for the next generation?” Viintaas is fond of saying, and Rovaan has become wholly devoted to defending the library’s secrets. The knowledge contained in the thousands of tomes was the same as protecting thousands of lives, and Rovaan knows her father would be proud.

Though Rovaan spends most of her time training with the other Paladins now a days, she always makes time in the evening for chess with Viintaas - now her wife - and visiting her twins, Katau and Osley. Even on days they are training hard, Rovaan and Krahdinok never miss a chance to outdo one another with their fashion sense and winged eyeliner skill - “The trick is making the edges sharp enough to kill a man.”
