Profile
Appearance
"Seer of Buttercup"
A soft, plump looking doe, Maple stands slightly below average height. Her eyes are a bright blue color, contrasting with her creamy white fur. Soft tan markings highlight her ears, hind legs, muzzle, tail and toes. Maple’s fur is soft and silky, and she does her best to keep it clear of dirt and leaves. Her wide, floppy ears sway when she walks. Her round, plump build testifies to her Buttercup upbringing; never short on food and sheltered from the hardships of life by her parents. Maple has no scars or blemishes on her pelt or skin. Her pelt is thick and lush, a plump dewlap adorns her neck. Maple wears a unique looking necklace, one that has significant meaning to do doe. The centerpiece is a human-made sun pendant she discovered by the river’s edge. She felt it a gift from Orientem, god of the sun and wears it to show her devotion to him. Two twigs similar in appearance to antlers curl around the sun, a reminder of her dear friend Stag.

Summary
Kithood
Maple was born to a long line of caretakers. Her rank was pretty much pre-decided for her, but Maple didn't mind. Her family is very spiritual and believe heavily in the gods. Her parents raised her to be trusting of the higher powers, who were good and knew what was best for all rabbits. They taught her to believe in herself and others, that every creature was capable of good. Being raised in the nursery, Maple had the opportunity to meet every kit that was born into Buttercup, and she became friends with many of them. Her most valued friend was a doe named Stag. Maple and Stag hit it off immediately, becoming almost like siblings. As a kit Maple found ways to express her creativity by twisting different plants and flowers together to form (messy) crowns and necklaces which she gave to her peers. She discovered the paint like properties of berries early on and (to her parent’s dismay) found immense joy in covering everything around her in color.
Muddypaw
Songbird, a good family friend and fellow caretaker, took Maple under his wing and began training her to become a caretaker. Maple couldn’t have been more excited, and the role came naturally to her. Her big heart and gentle manners made her a perfect comfort to crying kits. During this time, Stag decided to move in with Maple due to family issues. Maple tried to convince her friend to train alongside her, but Stag declined. The two of them remained close and shared a den more often than not, even as Stag decided on the rank of Digger. It wasn’t long until Maple graduated and took on the official rank of Mother. She was overjoyed, and while she never mothered kids of her own, she took care of the others as though they were her own.
Caretaker / Seer
Being comfortable where she was, Maple never sought for anything more than what she already had. As she grew older, things began to change around her. Her parents soon passed peacefully from old age. She accepted their deaths and was happy her parent’s had moved on to a better life, but she felt empty without them. She still had Stag and several other younger siblings and cousins, but it wasn’t quite the same. Things were made more difficult for the young adult when a shocking calling came her way. She had been appointed the new Seer of the warren, something Maple would have never expected. Still, she knew that this must be the will of the Gods and graciously accepted her new rank. It took quite a bit of adjusting to, moving out of the nursery and into a den alone was something foreign to her. She quickly set about decorating it and making the space more homely. Stag offered to move in with her but Maple declined. Just as thing were seeming to calm down, disaster struck their warren. A new warren known as Lan-Hraeth demanded their surrender or they would overtake them. Her best friend, Stag, was taken prisoner by the warren which devastated Maple. Her only sure foundation had been ripped away from under her feet. But Maple wouldn’t even have time to truly mourn for her lost friend. Everyone was looking to Maple for guidance. She herself was very confused and out of her element. Maple was not a violent doe and not one for strategy, but she did her best to give her input and ask for guidance from their god. The god’s blessed her with a vision, though it was one she didn’t really understand. She brought it up at a meeting with Bogweed and Buttercup and was met with some backlash and confusion, but she stayed firm to her words. Since then things seemed a blur of anxiety and stress for the doe. Maple half considered giving up the role to someone else, but felt it would be a betrayal to her warren and gods. She remained hopeful and optimistic, doing her best to keep her head above the water.
