Story

Abandoned in a La Noscean fishing town as a child, Kiht'a was taken in by a Roegadyn couple. The pair loved their son fiercely, but didn't understand much, if anything, about Miqo'te habits or customs. A Miqo'te adventurer took pity on the couple and helped them name their child - she would be around for sporadic periods in Kiht'a's life before ultimately, vanishing.

As a young child, Kiht'a's best friends were the cats that lived in and around the crates on the docks, as his feline features did nothing to endear him to the other children. He began a habit of exploring, often getting underfoot of fishing expeditions and wandering out into the La Noscea wilderness. Though coeurls are aggressive predators, one coeurl mother confused a giggling Kiht'a for one of her own cubs, and the two quickly became attached. Kiht'a had no sense of danger, and still regards his coeurl mother fondly.

When Kiht'a became a teenager, his father started to bring Kiht'a into the fishing business, and taught the boy how to sail a boat, among other things. Though Kiht'a learned quickly and could accompany his father on trips within two years, he was never quite satisfied. His Miqo'te godmother, the one who gave him his name, also gave him his first bow and taught him how to shoot. She has always told him stories of lands far, far away from the sleepy town Kiht'a called home, and he yearned to travel Eorzea as she did.

Eventually, Kiht'a declared he would travel to Gridania to master the bow and to become an adventurer. His parents fretted, but ultimately couldn't do anything but support their son in his endeavors. Kiht'a set out with bright eyes and wanderlust, unknowing of what Hydaelyn would have in store.

Present

From fledging adventurer to Warrior of Light, though no part of his own, Kiht'a quickly became a legend. His parents, back in that tiny town, worried greatly for their child. Everyday, it seemed that Kiht'a was off slaying Primals and beating back the tides of Garlean invasion. What could they believe? There were so many rumors about this new Warrior of Light. Whenever Kiht'a returned home with new scars and grand tales, his parents wondered what Kiht'a kept to himself.

Here's one of those things: Kiht'a loved Haurchefant fiercely, and all of Eorzea could burn in his grief.
