Yurisa

Background Story

An alchemist who works and lives in Juno. Yurisa is well versed in alchemy, studying in the medical field and support. She was qualified to be a member of Schwarzvalt Republic’s medical corps, but for some reason, she resigned in the middle of her training and works as a potion merchant instead. She took quite an interest in biomechanics, driven by the accident that took her hearing in Einbech.

Yurisa doesn’t look like a combatant and her gentle demeanor usually brings her enemy’s guard down when it comes to battlefield, as she has trained her two loyal homunculi, Caprica and Lullaby, as her fierce defenders.

She recently decided to finish her Biochemist study and became a Geneticist with her boyfriend’s support.

• Has bad reflexes, therefore she isn’t a good fighter.
• Attentive and observant
• Considerate
• Frugal
• She loves to hear and collects horror stories. But sometimes she gets too in character when she is telling them.

Notes:

• Yurisa is not trained as a combatant, therefore she heavily depends on her two homunculi to fend off attackers away from her. When cornered, she would try to fight back with Acid Demonstration before teleporting away.
• She partially lost her hearing after getting caught in an accident in a factory near Einbech when she was making a delivery for the alchemy guild at 16 years old. Yurisa suffered severe head trauma from the accident, making her moderately-severe deaf for the rest of her life. 
• She had a minor balance issue from her head injury in the accident.
• First few months after the accident, she begins to learn sign language and lip-reading. Until now, she still uses these methods as an alternative form of communication.
• Her ‘cat ears’ are her hearing-aid device, hidden inside the soft, waterproof cat-ear like covers.
• The potions she sold has a slightly better healing effect and tastes better than most Alchemist-made potions, makes her quite popular in the market. She usually sells her potions in Juno’s market.
• Been traveling alone for some time and had to camp out in the open, she grew very sensitive to living being’s presence in her surroundings at night, often disturbs her during her night sleep even when she stays at an inn. She is not as wary in the daylight and sometimes fell asleep in public.

  • Alice and Yurisa became good friends after Nameless Island, and reconnected since she started dating Callen, Ioth's best friend. She kinds of worried about Yurisa's relationship with Ioth because he got a reputation as a womanizer.
