Prodigal Son & Unending Nightmare

Neiro is Eunie's narcoleptic older brother. When he was younger, he was a spunky and reckless soul who dismissed his responsibilities as the Inn's owner and traveled far away from town as much as possible. His forts were known to be lively and truly the place where the party was at. Many enjoyed his company as he was amiable and care-free. His adventures were grand and glorious. His lifestyle quickly took a turn when he was attacked by a Nightmare. It was a rare instance, and something he couldn't really retell as his own memory of the event was distorted. He was found unscathed and unharmed but in a deep sleep. Even after being returned home, he was asleep for several months. Rumors circulated he was cursed, but no one really knew. Then one day he woke up. No rhyme or reason. He felt constantly sleepy and his eye color turned orange. He wanted to go out there to find the cause of the changes in his body. But after seeing Eunie explode into tears in front of him, he vowed to stay by her side and be the brother he never really was for her. Since then, he's recognized that many think him unreliable and too care-free for his own good, and even his sister had a hard time trusting him - but he could see how much she loves and cares for him and promised to her and himself that he'd never betray that.

It was hard coming to a point of Eunie being comfortable with him. Especially that he developed a severe condition of narcolepsy. He'd fall asleep out of nowhere and wouldn't wake up for extended periods of time. It took time and lots of effort, but the siblings found a rhythm that worked for them to maintain responsibilities and time together. Neiro is now responsible for the financial and organizational side of the Penguinn and Tavern. He's usually asleep all day and awake during twilight hours. At these times, he'd help and serve late visitors. Then he takes time for another job... researching and studying Nightmares. He finds it interesting how calm things are lately, but he doesn't seem too reliant on the peace. Neiro does good on not showing his concerns for it though. Like his sister, he's a happy and spry soul, however one can't help but feel there's more behind his smile than he offers. Neiro also makes an active effort to warn people he might fall asleep on them.... and usually does fall asleep on them. He'll wake up, eventually.
