Serlin grew up in the woods, raised and protected by a white wolf. She has healing magic and bubble magic. She's quiet, centered, and has love for all living beings.

As a child, Serlin was abandoned in the woods. They were adopted by a white wolf who was still nursing, as she had lost her pups just recently. As they could communicate with animals, the wolf was able to raise them under her care. They eventually named the wolf Amara, after the Amarant flower. When Serlin was still rather young, she discovered her healing powers. Amara was hurt badly after saving her from a bear, and as they wept over her body, her tears hands began to glow, and healing tears fell to Amara's fur. When she touched the fur, it healed even quicker. Serlin was overjoyed at being able to help Amara, and hugged her tightly even as Amara worried of if anyone were to find out, they may try to take advantage of them.
Even after she had grown, Serlin was always accompanied by Amara. Amara had grown very attached to her human-pup and after losing her own pups swore to always be there to protect them. She sees Serlin as young, naive, and easily fooled and refuses to let them fall prey to anyone's cruel machinations. Meanwhile, Serlin has only ever known the company of her wolf-mother, and is loathe to part from it. She is thankful for the companionship and wouldn't see the point of traveling alone, without someone to share things with.
When she finally ventures from the forest into society, she stumbles into a small magical academy. They are taken under the wing of one of the students there, a young man who feels like a bit of an outcast himself. She stays with him for a time, before waking from a colorful and vivid dream to find bubbles lifting to the ceiling, seemingly from nowhere. The rainbow reflections on the bubbles surfaces enchants her and they lift a hand to touch, and the bubbles shift and move in reaction. Serlin realizes this is another one of their magical gifts, and it has finally awoken after all this time.
Amara
Amara was named by Serlin after the Amarant flower. Amara is a white she-wolf who discovered Serlin as a child and took them under her care. Now as Serlin is older she still accompanies them everywhere, giving advice and protecting them. She is world-weary and cynical, and her suspicious pessimism acts as a good counter for Serlin's boundless naïve optimism. She can understand humans but can only communicate to Serlin, who can speak to animals.
