Zarumf was born the eldest daughter to the former village chief. Being the "royal daughter" she was taught all she needed to know to choose a good husband and become the next queen. Life was difficult for her, unlike her younger brother(s) and the other daughters of the village she was expected to be empathetic and intuitive, understanding the needs of her peers, but also dominant and cunning. Luckily, she had her mamma's spirit and took great pride in being able to take care of others-even if she didn't necessarily want to become village chief. This of course changed when she met her husband. He was originally from an enemy tribe who did not have a matriarchal system of government and his attempts to woo her were infuriating. She was there to crush his people not find a husband but his skill with a blade and arrogant attitude softened her heart to the point where she wanted to take him hostage and make him hers. From there, things clicked into place. Her parents announced they were pregnant and her mother said she was too old to have a baby and keep ruling so she retired and Zar, who was well aware that her husband was already on thin ice in the tribe but would also be expected to fight for her honor, wanted to become queen so that she could protect her new husband. He of course conceded to her wishes and beat everyone but Saang easily (in which saang cheated and almost killed quda in the process) and Zar with a heavy heart accepted her duties as chief and banished her little brother.
She is now known as a busy but fair ruler. She doesn't care too much for petty politics and instead does what needs to be done for her people. She doesn't try to enforce grand schemes or her personal opinions (unless necessary) and she expects her people to respect her private life as well (including her husbands travels which she sees as a good thing). She is known to be very down to earth, in tune with her people, but slightly vain all the same.
