A god, fading and forgotten, breathing his last in the ruins of the forest which birthed him. 

A boy, dying from the day he was born, stepping outside for a moment that would be his last.

      • Doesn't think much of the exceptionalism of so-called "sentient" creatures, considers them about as important as, say, rabbits or even grass. Has no compunctions against turning people into grass if they are too insistent about it
      • Unmovable, stoic, doesn't particularly care what people do or how they feel as individuals, has a deep sense of inevitability 
    • Very curious and eager to experience life, has a particular interest in bonds between people and the emotions which arise from them
      • Can sometimes be moved to kindness by sincere emotion . . . don't bet on it, though
    • Greatly values fairness and contracts, often requires prepayment (rarely monetary) before completing tasks outside work requirements

 

POWERS

  • Life Manipulation - manipulates life forces, usable to heal, reverse aging, eliminate disease, promote growth, add strength and stamina . . . or do the reverse. Also able to achieve subtler effects, such as influence tiredness levels and (to some degree) emotion
    • Creation - able to create minimally sentient golems out of raw materials, able to work with biological, magical or technological materials to create more complex sentience. Able to grant limited powers to his creation, usually enhanced physical prowess, barrier or light/elemental control. Also able to modify powers to an extent
    • Resurrection - able to fully resurrect the recently dead or simply resurrect them in a lesser form, able to retain some level of influence over them as desired
    • Plant/Animal Control - basic low level influence over living creatures, able to greatly increase his influence by "replacing" their life force with his magic, influence lasts as long as they live but wears off slowly over time, can be broken by dark magic. Any creature he buffs with his power gains automatic divine property and can gain other abilities as he sees fit
    • Animal Transformation - a specialized weave which allows him to temporarily let others or himself to take on the traits of animals (eg. wings, tails, fins, etc), requires him to write on their bare skin with his mana 
      • Nurture - passive aura which encourages healing and growth in flora and fauna within his immediate vicinity, also induces a mild sense of peace and wellbeing
    • Auto-Regeneration - regenerates automatically from any injury unless it is caused by darkness or corruption, or he is put into a "lifeless place"
  • Light Manipulation - manipulates light, largely as arrows or beams to attack or barriers to defend 
    • Detect Evil - able to detect corruption, demons, unnatural creatures and evil intentions in general. Can speak to ghosts
    • Purification - strong purification ability over poisons, pollution, dark influences and corruption, can cast as AoE
    • Empower - a combination of his life and light manipulative powers, able to grant a hard-light buff to others or himself to strengthen them. One of the strongest buff spells available, does not work on anyone with Dark or Corruption affinity
  • Insight - passive ability to read the "truth", must have some clues or knowledge, can be mistaken for empathy/mind reading or just extremely strong and accurate intuition
    • Threads of Fate - god ability, able to read "fates" to a far lesser extent than before his rebirth. Can do some quite accurate fortune telling, although not usually for free
  • Spell Weave - general weave of a Neo-Asian school, often uses chants for the more complex spells. Has a particular affinity for sealing spells

 

EQUIPMENT

  • Khakkhara - or Buddhist staff, used to center his magic. Super anti-dark, ghost and demon
  • Spell Tags - functions like spell cards, makes them himself. Sometimes stores hallowed beasts/plants or complex spells in them for ease of use, other times just uses them to increase his range
  • Paper Fan - for when breezes are needed in the heat, also occasionally to look cool while channeling magic

COMBAT STYLE

  • Mostly relegated to a backstage healer role due to his extensive capabilities in that area
  • If he has to fight, he normally uses plant/animal summons to do it for him
  • When backed to a corner he still has access to light manipulation, but he's pretty screwed if it gets to that point


WEAKNESSES

  • Sensitive to dark magic/corruption, unable to control demons/corrupteds
  • Unable to influence technology
  • Terrible hand-to-hand fighter, generally lousy at physical fights, slower reflexes than would be optimal on a mage

 

NOTES

  • Believes his fate is to die at Thomas's hand, and wants to "make it worthwhile" . . . so now they are best friends
  • Tried to pair up with Thomas, but as they have no synergy, completely opposing auras, and have trouble even communicating magically, the partnership was rejected. Now he frequently pairs up with knights instead, with a special preference for nonhuman ones
    • That said, they can cast yin-yang bombs and spell breakers together that they wouldn't be able to alone, so it isn't completely hopeless. Just mostly
