Cruise Knight

Cruise Knight is a criosphinx and serves as a diplomat for his species. He was mostly raised in the cities of Vidosoria, traveling a lot but visiting his tribe often so that he could experience both the urban and jungle cultures growing up. As a result, he has an understanding of both perspectives, though Cruise feels a bit out of touch with his tribe since he's spent more time in the city than with them. The tribe for the most part always welcomes him with open arms, though there's some tensions between him and the others his age. He is currently engaged to Eli Agnes.

Cruise has worked as a diplomat for roughly two years now, thrust into the position after the previous diplomat was found dead in his apartment. Despite being rather young for the position, Cruise was deemed the most qualified to fill the role due to his unique understanding of Vidisorian and Criosphinxian cultures. Cruise took the position, since it paid a lot better than the delivery position he had before, but he quickly realized that he was up against a far tougher opponent than he had anticipated, Vidisoria and Avuno's governments.

Cruise quickly came to realize that while the people of both nations were rather sympathetic to his tribe, the governments were not. Cruise's tribe, once known as the Vidisphinxes, are the last remaining tribe of Criosphinxes on the planet. Due to industrial expansions, the natives have been forced to give up their homelands, and while some, like Cruise's parents, were able to adapt to urban life, others did not have the same hardy genes to survive outside the tropical climates of the jungle. Thus, the remnants of the once vast tribes have all converged on the Vidisphinxes tribe to create the last Criosphinx tribe. Cruise wants to protect the land, people, and culture that he represents, but he knows full well that the odds are vastly against him, with the Avuno and Vidisorian governments taking every opportunity they can to discredit him and his people.

Cruise's magical abilities are called "The Seventh Plague". Despite the rather intimidating name, they're actually moreso meant for survival in the rain forest than for combat. He can ward off lightning strikes and sense the magical abilities of those around him, though not to a large extent. For example, he would be able to sense that Hugo has fire and containment magic, but not how these abilities manifest.
Cruise is also able to fly great distances and deliver a strong bite if necessary. He can also use his ram horns and lion's strength to body slam or ram his opponents.
