Midst the scraggly trees and night sky, you're greeted by a kind stranger. He introduces himself as "Dark", and he is one of many forest guides. He's quick to obtain your patronage, and seems to be having a one-sided conversation while leading you down a narrow path. A "shortcut" he calls it, but you're not sure. He says he's been in these woods longer than he can remember and can't bring himself to leave at this point. You wonder if it's because he's afraid of what's beyond the trees.

Dark is an outgoing and mischevious bagbean. He's very proactive, and will often be the first person to speak before anyone else has a chance. As such, he tends to overstep boundaries a bit. Despite his big shot personality, he can be fairly sensitive and take things a little too much to heart. The haunted woods is his home, and if he's not guiding travelers, he's most likely studying the corrupt magic all around, and harnessing it as his own.

On first impression, many people assume he is a girl due to his voice and mannerisms. He also has a resentment for tribal bagbeans, due to their disconnection from the Heart Root, and the fact he's gotten nothing but shit from them.
