About
Rachel is a very focused, duty-oriented individual. Once given a task, she will see it through to completion and it takes a lot to deter her. Stubborn and set in her beliefs, it takes a very convincing argument or a great shock for her to alter them. However, she is also very dependable, often undertaking more than her fair share of work in order to speed the process along and get things wrapped up quickly and neatly. She knows what needs to be done and has no problem giving orders, and if someone is acting out of line, she can put them in their place. She tolerates no disrespect to others under her care, and has a desire to guide everyone safely through to their goal. Rachel finds it hard to connect through words but lets her actions speak for her; as such, there are only a handful of people outside of her family she could claim to be very close to but she has made many situational friends. Frustrations are kept close to her heart and rarely explode outwards unless under great stress; she works them out by going on morning runs, or by the one hobby she has held onto since adolescence - photography. Her favorite camera is a Holga and she develops the pictures herself in a home-based darkroom as a way to decompress.
Otherworld
Rachel's Otherworld reflects the harsh nature of her time abroad, as well as her tightly-shut lid on her personal thoughts. It is sweltering hot but the heat is dry, reminiscent of the desert. Fires burn everywhere and repeatedly melt the large, jagged metal that accent the town like watch towers. Wide pits split open the earth and groan from the oppressive temperatures, spitting smoke and ash into the air. The monsters that populate her Otherworld are quick-moving, showcasing burns and peeling flesh, and peppered with shrapnel. All of their faces are obscured until one pulls back the mask to reveal rows of knife-like teeth.

mentee
Rachel met Norm through the joint military base while going to the VA for therapy. She wants to be a good point of guidance for the girl, given her struggles, but she is not sure she is best suited for the job; that does not mean she is not going to try.
