Orphaned as a child, they always had some fear of abandonment despite being adopted by a loving family. They didn't worry about any sense of belonging, but they often felt somewhat out of place among their peers. Discovering their talent in art helped them gain confidence regarding their own ecccentric thoughts.
Still, those thoughts disconnected them from the tangible world, and this is expressed through parts of their pelt taking the appearance of space. The area where their fur is blue shifts colors and can sparkle, due to this affinity with that outside of this world.
DESIGN NOTE: This character has no set palette! Experiment with colors and have fun with the blue region especially.

Personality
Somewhat distant oftentimes, but friendly enough. They like to think of others' experiences in life and foster compassion in themself, though they can sometimes come off as being cold hearted due to not always being able to feel sympathy for individuals, as they tend to view suffering on a more global scale. They readily jump to others' assistance though --it is primarily when there is nothing that can be done that they close off.
Prism is rarely overly excited --this generally occurs when teaching others (or thinking that they are teaching others!). This tends to be in the realm of science or mathematics, though they can get on quite the tangent about languages also.
Background
Abandoned and found - no one knows what Prism truly is, but their parents loved them just the same. They grew up in a well-off home and excelled in school. They tutored others in mathematics all throughout high school. As a college student, they currently study biomedical engineering and modern languages.
Daffodil
[ adoptive parent ] They often don't see eye to eye, but they still love and care for each other. Prism confuses Daffodill in many ways, but they make the most of their relationship, playing card games and cooking together.
Port
[ adoptive parent ] The apple didn't fall far from the tree. In their working days, Port was also an engineer, albeit an electrical one. They have the same rare personality type - INTJ.
