BATTLE EDUCATION

Zayd, being a noble, was taught how to use a weapon early on in life. He is quite proficient with it, and even had sparring partners growing up to really bounce off of and learn from. In the end, the boy picked the axe, a large and imposing weapon that intimidates on the battlefield. He himself wields a large axe.

WEAPON SKILL

Zayd has shown to be quite the terror on the battlefield with his large axe backing up his impressive strength. His ability to move is quick, but his swings with the axe are quite slow and meant to kill on impact. 

NO WEAPON SKILL

Zayd has trained himself to still be a formidable opponent should he be rendered unarmed. His strength is countered only by his naturally slow jabs and punches. In his head, he's calculating exactly where to hit to crack bones or otherwise maim his opponent. 

PERSONALITY

Quiet. Solemn. Irritable.

Zayd is a naturally serious boy, never really knowing how to let his hair down and have fun. This is just how he came, and does not stem from any unspoken trauma or otherwise. When he's seen alone, he's generally scowling and with unfriendly body language, like his arms crossed over his chest. 

Gaius is a childhood friend, and a rowdy one at that. When Gaius comes around, it's a different side of Zayd- but an expected one. He gets upset and frazzled, often ready to fight Gaius at a moment's notice. The two are actually very good friends, and it would seem Zayd is just tired of his friend's nonsense and flirty ways. 

About

Zayd Ivanov was born in another country, to a family filled with wealth. He has a mother, father, and a much younger sister, who was born when he was about 16. When he was a young child, the family decided to uproot themselves and move to another country. It was a difficult move for little Zayd, who couldn't speak the language. The family hired him a teacher, who taught him how to speak, read, write the language as well as how to fight. It was this teacher that would bring him to a fateful meeting. The teacher thought Zayd would learn quicker if he was alongside fellow students, and that's how he got himself mixed up with the Roelle family- specifically, Gaius.

Over time, Zayd became fluent and comfortable in his new home. He found great companionship in Gaius, and to his horror, found himself falling for his best friend. However, Gaius was an open sort, and was known for being the flirt of the family, dipping his finger in more than one pot. Feeling that Gaius wouldn't act this way if he liked Zayd back, made the boy hide his feelings behind a veil of hurt and anger. He didn't want to lose Gaius though, and continues to be his best friend, and his personal keeper, it feels like. 

He joins the Royal Academy as it feels like the natural path to take, serving the royal family.

Relationships

Gaius Roelle [ love interest ]

Zayd has been in love with Gaius since they were kids, growing up together. Gaius was the first person that reached out and made him comfortable in his new home. It helped they live near enough to one another to hang out often. Zayd feels that if Gaius loved him back, he wouldn't sleep around like he does, so keeps his feelings under lock and key. He often is seen yelling or fighting with Gaius, as friendly as one can be in that situation. When Gaius gets close or clingy, he does certainly blush and get warm. This upsets him more. Zayd is a classic tsundere, in this regard.

Aries Roelle [ acquaintance, friend? ]

Aries is Gaius' younger brother- and somebody Zayd definitely would talk to and play with as kids. Zayd was always aware of the Roelle House's cruel way of raising their children, and tried to extend a hand to Aries from time to time. Especially as kids, as he really couldn't understand it. At their age now, it's a bit awkward and cold. Zayd will extend his greeting and pleasantries to Aries, but sees how that family shaped him. At times, he wants to talk to Aries, simply because he does care about that family. But he feels Aries wouldn't really want Gaius' close friend to console him, so he simply doesn't.
