🧶 Percival (Long Profile)

Jollybeans are known for being the "imaginary friends" of those who need it most, companions and protectors from the things that writhe in the shadows, that which would psychologically harm a human. Percival is one of the rare few who did not find his calling in a human child, but instead in the elderly. The old man he accompanied was intrigued by marbles, having found a box full of his childhood marble collection when cleaning out his house prior to moving into a nursing home. When he was finally moved fully into the home, it was Percival's bright colors and compassionate personality that was the man's only comfort. Percival spent many a night curled up on the old man's side, in the shape of a soft little dog, listening to him read a book aloud.

When the old man passed away, Percival returned to Midveil with a heavy heart, feeling wiser, but a bit aimless. It wasn't long before he found comfort in what had given him so much joy during his companionship years - books. He knew a bit about his previous companion's history, his time in the naval military, and first sought out books on that. He loved nonfiction, the idea of being able to absorb facts and figures, finding each tidbit more interesting than the last. He found a little forest cottage in Blytheset Shore, built by some locals in hopes they could drum up more residents, and immediately set up a book collection there. The more attached he became to his landside library, the less frequently he visited Dreamhaven. Now, he lives in Blytheset full-time.
