Ambros

BACKGROUND:

Ambros is a hired mercenary who has spent most of his working life guarding trading caravans, members of the Trade Kingdom, and trade ships. Born to a human seamstress mother and half-elf Valettan trader father, he spent a majority of his early childhood accompanying his parents in the ever-moving Trade Kingdom, before his family eventually settled down back in Valetta. Childhood friend of the elf Lir, whom he has always viewed as a younger sibling of sorts.

APPEARANCE:

Hazel-eyed, with a stocky build, well-muscled arms and slightly pudgy stomach. His hair is naturally a deep caramel brown and wavy, however he prefers to wear it completely shaven. Has strong nasolabial and smile lines, and a wide mouth with thin, slightly pursed lips. His canines are slightly crooked and pointed, and there is a slight gap between his top front teeth. There is a vaguely feline element to his face - his eyes are heavy-lidded with a slight upward slant, his nose long and thin and his mouth seemingly always in a slight smirk. On occasion he will outline his eyes with a dark kohl, which enhances his already piercing gaze.
Despite his somewhat burly appearance, Ambros is a refined individual, and holds himself with elegance and poise. His posture is perfect, and he moves with an air of nobility and a great deal of grace. Smiles easily and openly, however can also appear extremely stoic, particularly when deep in thought or concentration.
Being the son of a seamstress, his dress style is elaborate and lavish, almost bordering on garish. He adores rich fabrics and colours, often donning himself in vibrant blues, deep purples and rich peacock tones. He possesses an affinity for gold and jewels, and is rarely seen without some form of golden necklace or cuff. Often wears shoes with heels in order to make himself appear taller, as he is rather self-conscious regarding his height.

Enthusiastic, lighthearted, humorous and immensely caring. Ambros possesses a strong moral compass and sense of justice. Despite his strong, deep voice and often appearing serious, he is a warm individual, and jokes often. Cares deeply and fiercely for those he loves, and will go out of his way to defend those he does not know. Often loyal to a fault.
Despite his otherwise diligent nature, Ambros' weaknesses are exposed when he works alongside a team. Although he does not intend to be, he can be inattentive & forgetful of pre-planned battle strategies, and has often blundered missions as a result. He is not always proficient at thinking on his feet, and can often stall when he should otherwise act.
