💎💎Biography💎💎

The story of Mara-Mira starts in an ancient version of present day Mecca, Saudi Arabia. In the year 1034, demon-like behavior was running rampant throughout the city. Crime rates were growing at an unprecedented rate, drugs littered their metaphorical Silk Roads, and alcohol was the replacement for water. Things were turning into a hell on Earth. Because of the rise in crime in Mecca, both demons and chaotic djinn saw the disarray of law enforcement as an ideal scenario for them to make chaos among humans. Over the spam of several Arabian nights, infernal beings started to rise up from their under-worldly abodes to join in the general crime and havoc. Before the crime rate rose, many demons were fearful of travelling to the human world since their ghastly appearances could be picked out of a crowd like sharks trying to blend in with a school of fish. Holy men and clerics alike would rush to banish and exorcise demons out of their world, condemning them now to a permanent life underground with no hope of ever returning back to the surface. However, since crime was now blossoming like a fountain, demon-kin no longer had to fear the human realm as law enforcement couldn't tell the difference between a genuinely nice tiefling and a chaotic being hellbent on destruction. This is how Mara-Mira found herself on the surface world in the first place.

Born to a family of greed demons, Mara's relatives all drilled into her mind one simple concept: "If you weren't on top, you had to take out whoever was above you by any means necessary". For her, this was how she lived day to day, often taking part in assassination plots for her fellow greed demons to help her relatives take a higher place in society. Where her family often indulged in money, gold, and various other riches, Mara was never given the chance to partake in the same indulgences her relatives had access to. When it came to greed demons and their offspring, the elders often had access to all the riches and spoils until they perished, either by natural or external means. Once they perished, however, their offspring, who had been doing their elder's chores for them their entire lives, would finally be allowed to step up the family hierarchy to claim their parent's riches for themselves. The cycle of trickling down wealth through familial connections would rinse and repeat for every greed family and would only come to an end if the parents had no heir to give their fortunes away to upon death. This tradition also applied to Mara who, after several years of nonstop work and service, started to grow aggravated and angry towards her birth parents. She found this imbalance of power frustrating and unfair. How is it fair that while she works day in and day out, killing countless demons from various other sin tribes- all her family has to do is relax and sit back, gossiping about how wonderful servants their children are to them? This realization drove Mara to flee hell for Mecca, knowing that her parents had plenty of life in them and that it would be forever before she would finally be able to receive the fortunes she desires oh so dearly for. However, she chose to flee because she knew that if she were to kill her parents, all greed families would simultaneously agree on her banishment from the tribe, splitting her families wealth among themselves and leaving her to die in the fiery pits of the underworld without any support whatsoever.

Nearly 27 years after her retreat from Hell, Mara had made quite the reputation for herself in the Mecca crime ring. She was a ruthless gambler and often cleaned house by cheating in every game she played in. Her home base was a casino-inn hybrid building known as the "Rihlat Almal", where she would spend her mornings with various prostitutes, getting hyped up on as many drugs as possible, and bathing in her own wealth before heading down to the downstairs casino, practically doubling her fortune every game she played. Not to mention, with every game she won (without being called out for cheating), she would start to amass quite the reputation among her fellow gamblers. Upon her arrival in Mecca, she was on every law enforcement soldier's radar, each one ready to arrest her at the slightest inquiry of foul play. Yet, after she grew rather friendly with the staff of the casino, she was practically known as a local celebrity! Despite her monumental reputation and charisma, however, there were still many people in Mecca who wanted her out of the picture, and they knew that one day- she would mess with the wrong person and would find herself facing a punishment severe enough to atone for her malpractices.

This retribution would come in the form of "Laeib Shaytan", a notorious demon gang in Mecca that aimed to control every ring of crime that existed throughout the city. Up until the year of 1074, they had actually succeeded on this goal. Every crime ring imaginable was under their pink finger. Drugs, theft, trafficking- and even gambling. Yet, when Mara unpredictably entered into the gambling scene, every member of Laeib Shaytan knew that she was nothing but trouble for their control over the crime in the city. Crime starts with gambling after all. You take a risk, it pays out, and you feel confident to do something bigger afterwards. That's how they saw Mara playing out if she wasn't stopped ASAP. After gambling, she'd move onto a bigger crime ring with a bigger payout than before. Then she'd search for more money, and more money, and more and more and more until their entire regime would be left powerless underneath her predicted monopoly of crime. So, one fateful night, several gang members approached the Rihlat Almal with one goal in mind- to stop Mara's ring of success once and for all. They disguised themselves as simple tourists from Egypt and challenged her to a simple poker game, nothing at stake, just a game with "no strings attached". Mara, who was already on a winning streak that night and had a confidence high, agreed right on the spot. She had beaten several tourists who wanted to challenge her to card games in the past, her reputation bringing in attention from all over the Middle East, so it was nothing too concerning for the Greed Demon to be worried about. However, halfway into the poker game, Mara was ready to clean out the house with a solid royal flush prepared. So, the moment the last card in the river was revealed, sealing her victory like an envelope, Mara called out her victory, reeling her arm back to slam her hand straight down onto the table. Yet, upon reaching her hand backwards, she felt her hand of cards suddenly disappear as the world seemed to become backwards. Words were written backwards, clothes were flip-flopped, married couples all hand their rings on their ring hands and not their lefts. Not only that, but the moment her perspective switched, she could see her cards falling from the sky as the crowds of gathered people erupted into panic. What was going on?? Then, she saw her hands. Her skin, which was normally a pale orange whenever she wasn't disguising herself as a human, had taken on a pastel tint to it, her fingertips taking on a reflective aspect to it's qualities. It occurred to her why everything was now mirrored. It was because she was trapped INSIDE of a mirror. One of the Laeib Shaytan shamans had snuck up behind Mara during the match and sealed her in a small hand mirror. Now, she was all alone, forsaken to live out the rest of her days inside of a mirror world that no one else had access to besides her.

Until the year 1925, when Mara (know referred as Mara-Mira, a fictional folklore tale figure of Mecca) would be reawakened to the sight of a towering mafia gang leader, known as Azran. Azran held a 50 year rule over the gang in Chicago known as "The Saints". After 900 years of rest, Mara-Mira was incredibly shocked to have been re-awoken. Before she was put to rest, all she could remember was being wrapped in papyrus paper, cut off from all light, and sealed away in the tomb of a long dead pharaoh. Yet, it seems that she had been rediscovered during an expedition into a pyramids tomb by a team of explorers sometime in the recent years, where she was then transported to this demon godfather, who believed she possessed some sort of mystical power that would give him unbelievable power. However, unsurprisingly, the only powers she gave him was a powerful sense of backtalk and disrespect. She found it amusing how he saw her as some sort of genie who could grant him whatever powers he wished for. After his 50 year reign came to an abrupt end when his pampered protege, Meredith, rose a rebellion against him, claiming the throne of The Saints for herself, Mara-Mira was finally freed from her mirror prison and was given a new lease on life, her clothes automatically adapting to the new time period's styles. However, upon being freed, she noticed that her skin hadn't returned back to its standard dark orange tint that her family of greed demons possessed. It was still pastel in color and was even crystal-like in appearance towards the tops of her fingers and the tips of her ears... it was obvious that because of her prolonged encasement in the mirror world, she could no longer return back to her glory days as a gambling queen. Condemning her to a life of slavery, to which mirrors were her masters. Yet, upon being freed, she pledged her allegiance to Meredith on the spot. Vowing that at any moments notice, she would be ready to spring out and strike whenever necessary, as her freedom now belonged to Meredith, the owner to the golden hand mirror that contained her soul and spirit. If that hand mirror was ever destroyed, Mara-Mira would be destroyed with it. Meredith was the only person she trusted with her life and if Meredith declared her life forfeit, Mara-Mira wouldn't give her any backtalk. For Meredith was the queen to The Saints. To which Mara-Mira was just a pawn in her vast schemes. A pawn that loved their job as a pawn~

💎💎Powers💎💎

Mirror Plane-  Due to her lengthened encasement in the mirror realm, Mara-Mira has come to possess the power to freely enter and exit a mirror plane at will, causing her physical being and her reflected being to blend into 1 physical being. This physical being is a complete copy of Mara-Mira and exists only in the mirror world where everything that exists can only be identified through reflections. Meaning that if there was a person staring into a mirror, and Mara-Mira was standing parallel to them in the mirror, their reflection would have a physical form in the mirror world. By interacting with objects in the mirror, objects in the physical realm will also be effected. When she's in the mirror world, however, she can't be touched or interacted with at all. Yet, she can touch and interact with anything she wants in the real world through the mirror world. However, if there is no mirror in front of something, she cannot interact with it and any interaction she has with that object will simply be bound to solely the mirror world and will have no connection to the physical world whatsoever. She can also only exit the mirror world if she can find a mirror to step out of in the mirror world. (NOTE: Her key weakness is that if a mirror is blocked or covered up in the real world, she cannot leave through that mirror in the mirror world, and she can't interact with items or people in front of that mirror in the mirror world as well.)

💎💎Personality💎💎

Upon first impressions, one will find Mara-Mira to be an incredibly loud mouthed individual with hardly any filter to anything she says. She's a loud mouth, she's arrogant, she's sadistic, and she only respects those who have the potential power to ruin her reputation with Meredith. When it comes to completing the tasks she's assigned, she aims to be efficient in everything she does, as to impress her higher ups. While mostly unbiased against other races, the only race she has a firm disliking with are Greed demons, due to their rotten beliefs and the torment they sent her through when she was just a teenager. She's a terrible hedonist as well, and often can be distracted with money or alcohol very easily. She is also fond of gambling, often spending her earnings at casinos whenever possible (Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs who).

💎💎Appearance💎💎

Possessing a distinct crystalline colorization to her entire body, her once solid dark orange color palette has been watered down into nothing more than pastels. Her skin now is reminiscent of a porcelain doll, having a light pastel orange color that seems incredibly smooth and reflective, almost like glass. However, upon making contact with her skin, one will find that her body isn't actually made of glass, but its actually made of a malleable substance that imitates glass. She has wide, razor sharp, cat-like eyes with neon orange irises, wide hips, thick leg muscles, and smooth arms that secretly are stronger than they appear. Her finger tips, after being exposed to the mirror world for so long, have lost any sense of color and are now a gradient of transparent glass and her light pastel orange skin tone. Her hair is made up similarly to Phos' hair from Houseki no Kuni, made up of large, smooth gems that form to make the appearance of a hairstyle. Her hair is swept to the right hand side and often has a very glass like element to it, having the same translucent properties as her fingertips yet they make a contrast with her fingers as they possess a darker shade of orange. She often wears a button up, long sleeve, white shirt (she rolls the sleeves up to her biceps), a pair of black booty shorts (cause fuck yeah), black suspenders, a very loose black tie, white knee high socks, and a pair of black laced high heel booties (4 inches).
