Charlot E. Greyson and Howard Yang joined the Graveyard Quartet when they were teenagers, which was probably around 1947-ish.

Basically, Howie was part of a Japanese-Taiwanese crime family in California while Charlot lived in a shack with her family for most of the Depression. The two met when they ran into each other on the streets. Eventually, Howard decided to give some support to Greyson's family, who struggled financially. This upset the crime family, who believed that this donation was a waste of their money. Tension also increased when the gang also refused to allow Greyson to join the gang "for being one of them white girls". Howard couldn't take it anymore once the crime family officially became involved in sex trafficking. He and Greyson sought protection from a rival gang in '46 and traveled across the country to New York City, taking the Yakuza's prized sword and "a literal boatload of money" with them. (No, really. They managed to fill a rowboat with money and drag it around using a pickup truck.) They gathered enough information to find Jim, who pitied them. They now work under Luigi's department, which specializes in assassinations, political bribery, espionage, and pasta-making.

Howard's family has not sent anyone to capture the two, especially once the Graveyard Quartet gained more power in the late '40s.Charlot hated how her parents didn't even go with the standard spelling of 'Charlotte' so she always asks to be referred to as 'Greyson', her last name. She loves helping Brad prank Jim and other members of the GQ when there's nothing to do. She also loves corny jokes to the others' dismay and writes her puns down in a journal she calls Greyson's Book of Terrible Jokes That Nobody Likes.

Because she wears a traditional gangster-esque suit and tie, Greyson faces criticism from other city-dwellers wherever she goes. This doesn't really seem to phase her, though. For instance, if an elderly man tells her, "shouldn't you be in a dress?", she loves to respond with, "shouldn't you be in a wheelchair?". (She's been kicked out of at least seven restaurants for this.)

Howard's serious around other people but when he's with Greyson, he tells her funny stories about any people he meets, any spoofs he runs into during missions, etc. You'd have to be super close to him to hear him laugh. He's very protective of Greyson but at the same time doesn't want to be overbearing so he tries to let her do a lot of things on her own. The two get along well and when Jim sends them on missions together, they sometimes argue but find a way to work it all out. XD They both have kind of a platonic sibling-like relationship and don't really have any romantic feelings toward one another.
