Solaris is some sort of trickster entity that uses their power to manipulate people into joining their cult. Their motivations are unknowable, their personality a mystery. They change their personality and behavior every time they interact with a new person. 

Joining the cult seems to have no adverse effects on its members. They've never been summoned or told to do anything. Those who say yes are merely told that someday they'll be sent the next step. None have received anything from Solaris. Yet. 

Classified as harmless for now, but definitely worth keeping an eye on.
