A Quick Summary

16209316_fKMHZs5Fn6p7Pr8.png

Tiberius is an energetic and carefree soul. He's an early bird who loves to wake up every morning and feel the sun on his back. He never denies the chance to stretch his wings and loves a good challenge. One of his favorite pastimes is challenging other fliers to a race. So far, his flight speed has gone unrivaled by all of southern Lusus. He doesn't challenge land runners unless they challenge him first, since he prefers to match wing for wing and not wing to foot.
He can get a little impatient with people who walk slowly and with having to wait, but he's working on being more patient.

In his spare time, Tibbers likes to do landscape paintings and always carries around a large leather pouch with supplies and a hand-made canvas. He flies to the highest points, finds a comfortable perch, and paints what he sees beyond and below. His paintings are quick and rough on tiny details, but they're mostly accurate depictions of his mountain range home and the world around him. He has good visual memory and can give directions to adventurers if asked.

His favorite food is fish, especially salmon, and he wouldn't pass up the opportunity at more exotic seafood.

Tibbers lives in southern Lusus Naturae, the side of eternal summer, near a mountaintop lake named "Lake Tiberius" - after the gryphon himself. He has a permanent formerly abandoned tree house, but he likes to travel out for several days at a time.

No matter how far he goes, he'll always return to the same crater lake clearing where he fishes for food and gathers with his friends.

Tiberius is a gryphon with the speed of a red-tailed hawk and strength of a cougar. He has bright golden eyes, a sharp beak, and retractable white claws.

His main diet consists of various fish and some meat. He avoids eating too many plant-based foods, since they only make him sick. He can handle a few herbs and spices but prefers his food raw.

When diving for fish or hunting down prey, Tibbers will fold his wings and dive at incredible speeds. He uses this method to deep dive in the lake and to take people by surprise by zooming right over them.

Powers & Abilities

Tiberius has excellent eyesight and can spot small animals from a distance.

He has painted meteor showers, the northern side sky lights, migrating flocks, and even overviews of the Dragon Kingdom. His paintings are quick and rough on tiny details, but they're mostly accurate depictions of his mountain range home and the world around him. He has an entire collection of his paintings over the years - some even show an early Lusus before the massive earthquake and before the mountain range split in half to two eternal seasons. He has good visual memory and can give directions to adventurers if asked.
In a way, his paintings preserve a bit of history and show the different phases of Lusus over the years.

His favorite food is fish, especially salmon, and he wouldn't pass up the opportunity at more exotic seafood.

Residence

Tiberius lives in southern Lusus Naturae, the side of eternal summer, by a mountaintop lake. The lake is named "Lake Tiberius," after the gryphon himself. It was a name voted for by the other residents.

He currently owns a permanent formerly abandoned tree house where he keeps all his supplies and paintings, but he likes to travel out for several days at a time. He'll stop to rest in a tree or cliff ledge each night before moving on again.

With his wings, he has no problems navigating the dangerous and steep locations of Lusus, and he can fly over overgrown forests to avoid getting lost.

No matter how far he goes, Tibbers always return to the same crater lake clearing where he fishes for food and gathers with his friends.

Backstory

Tiberius was born into a family of gryphons living in Lusus Naturae long before it became a territory for exiles.

When the council was wiped out, corruption took after the magical towers protecting the word from imbalance. Upon the Lusus tower's collapse, the magic core within erupted and caused the entire landscape to shift, breaking up the mountainous lands into ravines and recoloring all the flora and fauna. The north side became colder and began to snow; the south side became warmer and turned heavy with humidity.

At this time, the gryphons had migrated to the northern side for prey, and their territory quickly became a white, frosty landscape. At first, they tried to hold out, but prey and plant life began to dwindle. Their thin layers of fur and feathers weren't designed to survive extreme colds, and they were eventually forced to move back to the southern side.

While food was more plentiful on the southern side, the rising humidity made it nearly impossible to fly and became unbearable. Tibbers watched as the other gryphons slowly left their old home and flew down from the mountains. He, however, chose to remain in Lusus and flew further into the newly grown jungle.

Tibbers journeyed alone for a few months, scraping by on small morsels and whatever water he could find, until he came across a strange crater lake further up in the mountains. It was filled with a whole ecosystem of fish and other wildlife, and the surrounding area wasn't bogged down by humidity. He chose to make this place his new home, and he later found out that he wasn't the only one living there.

The crater lake became the main spot for a slowly growing community of strange creatures and hybrids. Though they weren't gryphons, Tibbers didn't mind and was simply happy to not be alone. He welcomed everybody seeking a place to call home and would show guests nothing but the best hospitality.

Once the community had grown to a significant size, the residents of the forest held a vote to decide on a name for the lake they lived by. They all settled on the name "Lake Tiberius" in honor of Tiberius himself.

Zeru [ childhood friend ]
owned by Sebeon

Tiberius and Zeru are close childhood friends. They live on opposite sides of Lusus, but they make trips to visit each other once in a while.

Tiberius has known Zeru ever since they were children. He found the Rabbit Dragon alone and crying, having been whisked away from his original world to Tiberius'. They grew up in southern Lusus together, with Tiberius' family having somewhat adopted Zeru, back before the earthquake happened. He acted as Zeru's big brother figure for a while and taught him how to paint.

When Zeru developed health problems, Tibbers helped him cross to the northern side to seek treatment from the local doctor, because nothing else was working. He ended up leaving Zeru to live in the town of Crystalwake, as it was a much safer place and better for his health.
