Etienne was born of royal blood to the great house of York. He grew up following the ideals of the White Rose Court along with his younger brother, and worked tirelessly to prepare for the day that his family would finally win the war against the Red Roses and he would ascend the throne as the Lord of York. All his life he was taught to hate those of the other rose, it was expected of him and what he expected to embody himself. However, fate is cruel. This became particularly clear for the prince when he found that the woman he loved turned out to be a spy for the Red Rose Court. Everything that he had come to truly care for had turned out to be not but a lie. Unable to relinquish his feelings for the woman and get over the ache that remained from her departure back the Red Court, Etienne fell ill with a disease none had seen before. Flowers began to grow within his body and they drained away his very life source. His hair turned a sickly white and his visage become almost ethereal... wavering between life and unlife thanks to the red and white roses that choke his very soul at its core. Fearing what may happen if the Red Rose Court caught wind of the crown prince's illness, Etienne's father, the current Lord of York, decided to lock his son away and hide him from prying eyes. They trained a double to take his place publicly, and none but his family are allowed an audience with the true prince anymore. He waits endlessly in his wing of the castle, dying and fragile, for the day that the chaos might end and the torment will cease.
