Jack grew up in a very stressful environment. He was an only child, so his parents both pressed him to be as successful as they wanted him to be. They even went so far as to try and cast Velusjem spells on him, to make him more powerful. But they eventually realized that even though he became more sensitive to magic, which would have theoretically made him be able to do more with less of it, the spell had actually made him too sensitive. Whenever he tries to channel even a tiny amount of power, he quickly becomes overwhelmed and can't control it. He became an outcast in school amongst fellow Velusjems and enemy dragons. His parents still try to press him to control his powers. All of the pressures in his life drove him to act tough, cold, and aloof. He's really a softie, and he loves drawing horses while sipping a warm cup of coffee in front of a hot fire. (Apologies for this bio being a bit disjointed--it's still a WIP!)
