Valdir

Background

Arrogant, vicious, and power-hungry, Valdir is the archetypal drow male. He was born to a disgraced assassin who sacrificed her own life to gain him sponsorship from a noble family, not out of any actual care for her son, but because ensuring his survival was the one small act of rebellion she could make against the Spider Queen. Unknowing of his divine heritage, Valdir clawed his way up from the slums of Ched Nasad to the enviable position of patron to a high-ranked noble house. Eventually, a rival's treachery during a raid left him stranded on the Surface, where he was found half-dead by Gorion, who realized he was one of Bhaal's children and chose to keep him alive for well-intentioned but ultimately regrettable reasons.

Personality

He comes off as impulsive and quick-tempered, and prefers the straightforward approach (which usually means chuck a fireball at it), but a century of surviving amidst drow intrigue has forced him to hone his cunning as well. His two interests in life are gaining power and waging war, so expect him to be very good at anything to do with those...and honestly pretty bad at everything else.
