Maeve Vernirisey

Maeve never knew her kin, nor why she had been surrendered to an orphanage shortly after birth. She never dwelled on it much, either. Among the other kids in the homestead, she asserted herself as a natural leader at a young age. A main pillar of support for the orphanage, Maeve did a lot of domestic work as well as hunted for the kids in her younger years, and tamed a raven named Vanserra to help her do this with more efficiency. Since her situation stressed the importance of unorthodox thinking to solve problems, Maeve found herself gravitating towards Raven's teachings.

Maeve developed a sisterly relationship with another girl of the orphanage named Valkyrie who was seven years her junior. When they both grew old enough, they decided to move out of the orphanage and build their own small home deeper into the Shiverpeaks. When they did this, they both picked a last name to share to cement their familial bond. When she turned 19, Maeve heard of the formation of the Vigil, and the two moved once more, sharing a bunk in the barracks of the Keep. Working hard for both of them, Maeve climbed the ranks quickly despite her age, achieving the rank of Warmaster. One soldier under her was a girl from Lion's Arch with a similar background to her's, Selene.

When the Pact was formed, Maeve was selected to lead a troop of soldiers from each order. Here, she met with Biijou and Connall from the Priory, and wondered why they hadn't received a Whisper's representative. When Selene confessed that she had actually been working as a double agent for the past few years, Maeve's trust in her took a hit. Ultimately, she came to terms with the deception, and the group grew into itself during the Zhaitan campaign. They also received an additional member, Krill.

During Maguuma, Maeve had to take a backseat when she needed to get her arm amputated due to severe injury in the fleet crash. Once she'd recovered enough, she was discontent to sit around, and insisted on joining the Commander and Selene deeper in the jungle. Unable to fight with her normal tactics, Maeve learned from the Druids of the jungle and learned how to be a support to the team by one-handing a staff for the remainder of the campaign.

After Maguuma, Maeve accepted an invitation to Dragon's Watch, bringing the rest of her troop with her, except for Connall. She also combined with Warmarshal Kestrel's warband and became co-generals within the guild. Maeve and Biijou got married shortly before joining the team in season 4, and adopted a DNA spliced charr-asura hybrid child that had been in the care of Biijou's estranged brother in Rata Primus.

Currently, they are staying in Arth's estate in New Kaineng and are choosing to slow down in order to focus on their family.
