An old character of mine - both in character age and how long she's been bonking around in my head. I don't have a whole lot of solid lore written down for the world she & her brother + a few others exist in, but I'm hoping to tackle that at some point.

She's an old, fairly done character who would like it if people left her to her business, thanks. Not the most outgoing, but enjoys the company of those she cares about, and will fircely defend them. Had a fairly normal upbringing, got an engineering job pioneering some technology in their world with her brother and then :) I was mean. Cue minor cataclysm & a few intervening centuries n whatnot and now she's mostly helping protect how things are and exploring other worlds and collecting stories.

A lot of how she interacts with people depends on how well she knows them. She doesn't trust easy and as such is more reserved around people she doesn't know well, but she's not generally deliberately rude. She's pretty good at picking up oon body language & queues, and as such is pretty good about not annoying others too much unless she either doesn't care or isn't in the mood to deal with people.

In general, she is extremely patient, and tends to be on the more cautious side of things - most of her actions are deliberated beforehand and throughly thought out before she acts, and once she commits, she commits. She's fairly unflappable, and most antics just get an unimpressed look, including her brother's. However, around people she's more comfortable with, she does crack a smile and sometimes responds with her own teasing.

Darkness

Abyss' element she's most skilled in is Darkness. It allows her to take an incorporeal, energy form that can bend and change shape at will. It can be harmed by other energy stuff - fire, particularily bright light, heat, ect, & that damange will be mirrored onto her physical form when it reforms. She's skilled enough where she can 'fake' a telekenises effect, using the shadows opjects cast to manipulate them. Her eyes + markings glow purple when using this element.

Ice

This element gives her the aability to manipulate solid water & with more power, create it out of thin air via energy. She has minor abilities to manipulate cold, such as drawing it away from areas and guiding it into others, but she specializes in radiating it & manipulating ice. Her markings + eyes glow a pale blue-white when using this element.

Healing

This element gives her the ability to heal physical wounds on others & herself. Though others can manipulate the element to assist with mental healing, she specializes in the physical aspect of the element. It does grant her a minor ability to sense physical pain of others in the vicinity, which can be overwhelming and useful at different times. Her eyes + markings glow a rich blue when using this element.

Dangers of Elemental Overuse

As with anything, overusing her elements has consequences. Overuse of elements can damage the body, even if reserves are not exhausted - channeling too much power through her body over a short amount of time can damage it, somewhat similar to how circuits can get overloaded and melt. This expresses as internal bleeding/damage around her eyes + the markings that change color & glow, as those are the main "channeling points".

For her, that most commonly manifests as burns around those points if he cannels too much power in too little time - this is particularily accute in her human/non-natural form(s), as though it is more resillient to elemental channeling than a normal human/creature, it is still a far cry from her natural form's tolerence. And as self-inflicted elemental overuse injuries are resistant to healing elemental's capabilites, these burns & internal damage can take a while to heal, even with her naturally enhanced regeneration.

If she manages to exhaust her elemental reserves, her abilities will start drawing from his body's reserves - fat & muscle tissues - and consume them instead of his elemental reserves, which can quickly lead to unconciousness or death.

Brief current time summary - essentially, functioning as a bit of an adventuer in the multiverse - going between worlds, disguised as the native inhabitants, and collecting stories about what the people are like and what their world is like, without interfering. Sometimes pulled to get some people out of tough situations/advise/serve as bodyguards or to deal with some :) fun critters that she & her sibling have a bit of a rapport with, but generally left to her own devices away from politics.
