Arguably a chuunibyou, Camellia’s speech is peppered with flowery language, references to apocalyptic theories (religious, mythological, scientific, and conspiratorial), and formalities.
Camellia is convinced that the world will come to an end if a certain somebody wins the position of Top Star. Referring to this person in a variety of ways such as “false prophet”, she makes it her life mission to make sure they never get to the top. As this goal is at odds with her generally calm and accepting nature, she chooses to justify it as the sacrifice of one benefitting the lives of many.
Apart from her strange antics, Camellia is honorable and strives to do what she feels is the right thing. She is rarely ever fazed or upset, and has a benevolent nature. She has a love of humankind and wishes to do what she can to protect its happiness.

An avid bookworm, Camellia can pass hours easily without moving from a spot just blazing through literature. However, she gets substandard grades due to hyperfocusing on what interests her rather than what’s asked of her. She puts her all into every performance, taking every experience as a way to practice and build up her strength for the battle to stop the end of the world.

Camellia was raised in Japan and moved to somewhere in the Nordics with her family (where they were originally from). She returned to Japan to fulfill her mission of stopping the “false prophet” from becoming a Top Star after connecting the dots and finding similarities in the current class’s iteration of Starlight and the other apocalyptic stories she had read. She transferred in early in the year using her family’s connections.
Overall, her past and identity are all pretty shrouded in mystery.

In timeline A, after some observation, Camellia is under the belief that Eiji is the bringer of the apocalypse she is looking for, much to the latter’s confusion. It isn’t until the very end, witnessing Shiori's intentions to paint the stage with a story of despair, that she realizes her mistake.
In timeline B, she remembers bits and pieces of the previous timeline, believing the memories to be from a prophetic dream. This time, she immediately points fingers at Shiori, boldly stating her intentions. She also dotes on Eiji, allowing herself to get pushed around, in an apology to her mistaken accusation from her “dream”.

  • Her surname is unknown. Every class record coincidentally has some unfortunate spill or scratch where her last name should be.
  • Her weapon is a combination of Sword of Laban and Bleeding Lance.
  • She’s good at picking up different languages and pronunciations.
  • She likes conveniently packed beverages and foods because they aren’t disruptive to her reading. Juice boxes and Capri Sun packets are her preferred vehicle of beverage.
  • Her half of the room is like a miniature library that abruptly stops so it doesn’t interrupt her roommate’s side. Books are organized chaotically, with many bookmarks, sticky notes, and red yarn connecting related thoughts in different books (much like the laser beams protecting museum artifacts in a heist movie). You need to maneuver your body in strange ways in order to enter her space without disturbing the strings. Apart from her literature, she is quite disorganized and forgetful, and often loses things and purchases them anew.
  • Camellia references and has a story resembling Jeanne d’Arc’s in multiple ways; “visions” seemingly given by a higher power and the devotion to a life mission based on religious beliefs.
