About

Ayame is the fiffteen year old "Priestess" at the Eastern Barrier Gate of EverWood City. Did I lose you yet?

She has two jobs: One is to maintain and protect the Eastern Barrier Gate by supplying it with magic. The second is to monitor what Supernatural beings come in and out of the gate. Particularly making sure no one leaves: After all, EverWood City is something of a Supernatural Prison.

However, Ayame does have a serious problem: She is the 4th Generation Priestess to this shrine. Her magical blood is very thin and she cannot power the shrine properly without becoming very sick. Ayame is too stubborn to ask for help, and is instead frequently bedridden and miserable. She says that she doesn't want to trouble others with her duties, but the truth is that Ayame simply has too much pride to be the one who has to give up the shrine duties to an outsider.

She is supported by a Kitsune, who knows her better than anyone else.

Personality

[ QUIET ] Ayame has never had to use her voice to get what she wants. She is spoiled by the shrine followers, who are in tune to her every movement. So if Ayame needs something, someone can usually tell just by looking at her. People flock to Ayame even if she doesn't need anything and try to earn her favor. Speaking up has never been necessary, so Ayame doesn't bother. To be honest, raising her voice feels stressful to her because she simply isn't used to it.

[ SPOILED BUT AWARE ] She is also quite aware of how spoiled she is. Ayame knows that she is very lucky to have people look after her. She does her best not to let herself become lazy.

[ BUDDHIST ] Ayame practices Buddhism. She doesn't want the material things that people try to spoil her with. She is actually quite tempered by her religious beliefs. Ayame does her best to help others realize the spiritual peace that she is moving towards and believes that the imprisonment situation for Immortals is good for them. In fact, Ayame does her best to help them in particular. She feels some pity for Immortals and how they have to live their lives eternally on this Earth, and wants to make this Earth as nice as possible for them.

[ PRESSURED ] Despite her best attempts, Ayame is pressured by her family legacy. She doesn't have much magic.
