Birdsong

Birdsong can best be described as a gentle giant sort of fellow. His heavy build makes him far more intimidating than he means to come off. He sands his tusks down and keeps his claws trimmed to lessen both his similarities to his father as well as to soften his otherwise intimidating visage. He puts his best paw forward, taking things one day at a time, always one to lose himself in the moment not out of enjoyment but out of avoidance of the past and fear of the future. He's too quiet to reach out for help, to show his heart, and to be true to any interests that might paint him a target for ridicule. Stay quiet, stay calm, this guides him. Deep down, he wants to change, and to express himself and enjoy the moment for what it is and look forward to a future of more- but for the longest time lacked the strength to do so. Right now, his biggest escapism is the stars and space, something mesmerizing and so distant from his worldly troubles and he dreams of visiting it somehow. 

Until... he met someone so incredibly enigmatic and strange it stirred something in his static heart, and pushed him- sometimes literally, to move forward. Kimae has been Birdsong's inspiration far before crush, and the way the little fella pursues his every whim so seemingly effortlessly and has the courage to be out there and be loud and make mistakes and still recover after them is something that Birdsong respects more than he can ever seem to articulate in words. 

His current residence is back in the house he grew up in, when it seemed like his mother really fell apart after he left the first time. He's working tirelessly to be there for her, at the cost of holding any good relationship with his father, but a few fateful encounters have left him hopeful that he can learn to accept the dad who left him so long ago and reconcile with his father and his new family. 

He is learning a lot more about his interests and himself through Kimae.
