Cleo Running Elk

There's a lot of words you could use to describe how Ms. Cleo Running Elk carries herself. Some would call her annoyingly peppy, whereas others would more quietly call her calculating and venomous. In reality, both of these perceptions of her are accurate, because Cleo is the type of person that is deeply concerned with how others percieve her. To let everyone see every facet of her would be putting too many of her cards on the table, so she plays up specific aspects of herself depending on the audience. Natureally, this is a very delicate game that she plays.

To the wider public, she is a bubbly rich girl who loves to have fun and is enjoying spending her youth dancing and drinking. She has unbridled enthusiasm for the people around her, and shares her wealth liberally. She is witty, vivacious, and charismatic to the point it may make you dizzy. It was as if she was born to sit in the spotlight, and she will happily take all the endless attention she recieves with a smile. Some find this outgoing extroverted personality of hers to be grating, and with how loud and full of pride she is, it's easy to see how it can be overbearing at a point. She doesn't really care, though. If you can't keep up with her, then that's your problem, not hers. You're welcome to walk out of the club with her laughter ringing in your ears.

It's this outward appearance that gave rise to the rumor that Cleo isn't actually the leader of the gang she's associated with. It's more comforting for some to think that someone like her couldn't possibly have the grit to do what that crew does on a weekly basis. Those that actually do business with her know the truth; That she is deeply intelligent, observant, and runs her team with intense concentration. She takes her leadership position very seriously, and actively weaponizes her magnetic nature to bring people to her side of things. She's swayed plenty of talented people into betraying their own groups so she can get an upperhand, and will likely do it again. She is also, worst of all, very keen on holding grudges. The vindictive, bitter kind of grudges that get you abducted in the night. God rest the souls of anyone who crosses her bad enough to earn that fate.

But, at the end of the day, these are just two facets of a complicated person, and they do not make the whole of her. To her friends within the gang, Cleo is funny, generous, and reliable. She's the type to give the shirt off of her back if they asked. To her lovers, of which there have been a few, she is tender, thoughtful, and reverential with her affections. She takes the femme mentality of being a warm touch in a world that has no kindness for people like them to the max. It's these groups that see the imperfections, the things she tries to hide. Like how much she worries, or how she cries easy when she gets frustrated, or how thoroughly exhausted she is after everything she has to put up with. She's not just some socialite, or a cruel queenpin. She's... a big, happy lady who likes sweet drinks and sleeping in. She's just Cleo.
