Profile

◈ Personality ◈

Tuna cares very little about the consequences of his actions and tends to do whatever he wants in the moment, often acting on impulse rather than thought.  Due to his fame as a member of the Racing League, he is often in interviews and other televised events.  Multiple times at these events though, Tuna has shown up late, used inappropriate language, flipped people off, left abruptly and more causing major controversy.   Despite his actions causing outrage from multiple media outlets, the Racing League cant afford to lose their best racer and so he gets away with little more than a stern talking to.  Tuna's fans adore him regardless of his poor behavior, but because of this he has to wear a disguise when he ventures out in public to avoid being recognized.  Racing is Tuna's life, the thrill of speeding and the danger involved gets his blood pumping in the best way.  He loves racing so much that he even tends to speed when not on the track resulting in multiple run ins with the police.

Aside from racing, Tuna likes to get high.  In fact, he is usually high, even when racing or at events.  In spite of the effects of the drugs, Tuna is still an amazing racer while under the influence, but that doesnt mean he hasn't crashed a ton of times...  His run ins with the police have also left him with multiple DUI's and calls to his organization.  When things get out of hand, his manager usually has to get him, whether that be in a parking lot in the middle of the night, the hospital, or in his messy apartment.  His manager hates her job because of this, since getting him to do anything is a struggle.  When retrieving Tuna from his apartment, his manager usually takes the time to clean up a bit out of pity.  This usually includes dishes, clothes, food, and any drugs left lying around.  Tuna's manager usually has to force him to get cleaned up as well since he does a poor job of caring for himself and never remember the dates for his events.  Tuna is truly a mess...  Even with his bad behavior and cold personality, Tuna does appreciate what his manager does for him and treats them kindly.

Tuna has an appetite for his fellow Sprinkle Kitties, and longs to taste their flesh and blood.  This started as a result of an after party gone horrible wrong where, while partaking in the available narcotics, Tuna suffered from side effects caused by a bad batch.  Sugar related drugs are known for causing Sprinkle Kitties to turn feral; however, Tuna was affected a bit differently.  Cannibalistic instincts were awoken within him and the scent of the others around him set him off.  He attacked the closest person to him and bit them, drawing blood.  Luckily for him, nobody realized the drugs had affected him so and attributed his behavior to his perceived drunkenness with his victim going so far as to be aroused by the bite.  Since this moment, Tuna has had a taste for other Sprinkits, and the smell alone bothers him so much that his only relief is to get high and forget his problems.

Tuna also has a fascination with human technology, most notably the VHS tape, which he collects.  Tuna's favorite VHS tapes include R-rated films, but he collects a few others as well.  VHS tapes are a rare and valuable form of human technology on Purrasia and many wish to get their hands on the strange films.  Using this to his advantage, Tuna trades VHS tapes for other things on the Black Market which he frequents quite a bit in order to resupply his drugs, buy packets of blood which help him stave off the hunger, and get whatever other items his heart desires.

◈ Backstory ◈

Tuna grew up in the slums in an old and run down apartment complex where he lived with his uncle and his uncle's girlfriend.  His uncle wasn't particularly happy to have the boy in his care; however, his uncle's girlfriend was a kind woman that always treated Tuna nicely.  At the apartment complex, people would come and go at all hours of the night and strange and loud noises were a constant thing as the walls were so thin.  The place was always messy and the building was slowly falling into disrepair, but things like this never really seemed to bother Tuna as he considered this normal.  It was the only thing he had ever known after all.  During the day, and usually late into the night as well, the children living in the apartment complex were free to roam about as they pleased.  The only adult that bothered to really watch over them were a few of the nosy mothers and a particular man that was known in the community as Grandpa.  Grandpa would sit in an old wooden chair outside the building watching and entertaining the children.  His favorite pastime, however, was watching the younger generation participate in street races, having been a pretty famous street racer himself back in his day.  Grandpa wasn't really all that old, in his late 40's at the most, but the harsh lifestyle he lead in his younger days and the bum leg had left him moving like he was in his 80's.

Tuna was often watched over by Grandpa and the nosy mothers that would stick their heads out the windows and doors to pester everyone.  This had been so since they young boy moved in with his makeshift family.  To Tuna, Grandpa was like family and became someone he looked up to.  Hearing the old man's stories from his racing days made Tuna want to be just like him.  It didn't bother Grandpa that Tuna looked weird, with his pointed teeth and sharp eyes, nor did it bother him that upon their first meeting the boy's eyes looked dead as he stared off into space, mindlessly picking at the white cast that covered his arm.  He wouldn't judge the child for things in his life he couldn't change and in time this action, or rather lack of action, would allow the child to open up on his own.  Grandpa, with his immense care for the children of the neighborhood, became a favorite person to Tuna, solely for his unwavering presence in the boy's life.  So unlike his mother, who had died, or his uncle who could barely stand his presence.  Grandpa was always there, always attentive, and quite the doting grandfather.

Growing up in this community, Tuna heard many a tale from Grandpa's racing days.  Listening to the man tell these stories really inspired Tuna over the year and, eventually, he, along with a few of his friends from the complex, managed to scrounge up enough parts to fix up an old busted up car they had found.  Grandpa was excited to help them through this process but being only around, 14 at the time, they were still too young to legally drive, though its not like that stopped them and Grandpa wasn't going to tell them no.  Unanimously, it had been decided, after some time, that Tuna would be the driver as after a few test runs he seemed to have the most skill out of all of them.  This did not come without issue though, Tuna had some anxiety when it came to driving which had to be worked out through continuous practice which Grandpa was more than happy to help with.  It was during this time that Tuna started to get into drugs, like most of everyone else in the community.  It started out simple with cigarettes that even Grandpa would give them sometimes, but as he got older it progressed to more.  Tuna's uncle didn't care much about the boys behavior, so long as it didn't effect him, as he was gone for most of the day and night, but occasionally he could be heard yelling at Tuna through the apartment complex walls.  Through Tuna's drug abuse he became pretty reckless in both his driving and day to day actions and there became a distinction between his personalities when he was sober versus when he was high.  Before, he had been a pretty calm child, but now he was more wild and upbeat when he was high and more quiet and melancholic when he was sober.  A few times, Grandpa had to go retrieve the barely conscious boy and drag him out of whatever dirty house he had gone to get his fix.  Despite this behavior, Tuna was able to get through school with good grades and continue street racing with friends.  By this time, he had developed something of a reputation.  A few videos of him had found their way onto the internet and thus caught the eye of the Racing League.  Eventually, scouts approached him offering him a job as a racer.  Tuna was skeptical at first thinking this was just a ploy by the police to get him as he had a few bad encounters with the authorities already; however, after a bit of discussion and some advice from Grandpa, at the age of 16, Tuna joined the Racing League.

◈ Relationships ◈

Minty:  Tuna's bro, although...Minty might disagree.  Minty and Tuna met after Tuna stumbled in one day after a long night of drugs and drinks.  Tuna, a little more hungover than usual, could barely keep himself up but really wanted a sweet snack.  Minty ended up having to help this mess of a man since Minty's dad recognized him and figured they couldn't just let him go off on his own in that condition, surely he must spend the night till he is better!  So Tuna spent the night, much to Minty's dismay, and turned the charm on Minty's dad when he woke up, thanking him so much for his hospitality.  In return, Tuna gave them his super duper valuable autograph and let Minty drive his Furrari.  After that, Tuna would come by more often until he sort of forced Minty to become his friend...or whatever they are!  Usually Tuna will randomly take Minty with him to places.  Minty doesn't really enjoy it but he doesn't have much of a choice either.  After hanging out for so long, Minty eventually started to come over to Tuna's apartment to chill, eat pizza, and play games.  He soon discovers Tuna's cannibalistic tendencies after finding the blood packets Tuna keeps in the fridge and confronts him about it calling him a sick individual that needs help.  Minty then proceeds to cut off all contact with Tuna; however, Tuna, in fear that Minty will tell his secret, kidnaps him...  Tuna resolves his problems with Minty by paying him to keep his silence.  The important part for Tuna though, is that they are still bros.  Minty's dad really likes that Minty has such a rich and influential friend and when Tuna gets into a serious car crash during a televised race which puts him in a coma in the hospital, encourages Minty to go visit him.  Minty is the first person Tuna sees upon waking up.  Being in the hospital for so long, Tuna is sober, and so his personality is way more depressing than it usually is.

While sitting here, deadpan, enjoying his pudding cup, Tuna admits to minty that he would've rather not woken up from the coma stating, “Honestly... I wish I didn't wake up... but seeing you waiting for me... I guess it was a pleasant surprise...”  This statement pisses Minty off.  How can Tuna say such a thing when he almost lost his life and got to continue?  Minty decides to leave at this point.

He gets up and says, "Enjoy your pudding..." before walking out and leaving Tuna there alone.

Tuna's a bit confused and calls after him, “huh-? Hey minty, ur leaving?” but Minty doesn't answer and just leaves.  Tuna's recovery puts his career on hold and causes a lot of controversy in the media.  Despite what happened though he doesn't stop going to see his bro, Minty.  As soon as he's all healed hes back to racing and being super reckless again.

Minty x Tuna AU:

Minty doesnt like being dragged around by tuna but after a time he gets to know tuna a lot more aside from how he portrays himself and tuna gets to see minty and how he acts in different scenarios and what he values, and sometimes he gets to see the small things that makes minty happy, and that makes him happy.  Their relationship isn't and easy one.  Tuna is an extreme drug addict and is super reckless.  Despite this though, he would do anything for Minty to keep him happy and safe.  Minty, on the other hand, has a hard time expressing certain feelings.  He definitely cares but it always comes out in frustration since he doesn't agree with the way Tuna is slowly destroying himself.  Minty is very adamant about Tuna quitting drugs by either getting help or doing it himself.  Tuna isn't exactly happy about the idea but tries it anyways for Minty.  The withdrawal symptoms are hard for the two to deal with by Minty does his best to help him through it.  The drugs Tuna takes helps him keep his cannibal tendencies at bay though, and once he stops his feral behavior starts to show itself.  Minty struggles a to help Tuna through this at first because of his PTSD and for a long time feels helpless as he watches Tuna writhe on the bathroom floor in pain while digging his nails into his arms to keep himself from hurting anyone, especially Minty.  Eventually, despite the immense amount of panic he feels, Minty forces himself to help Tuna as best he can.  Tuna, fearing that one day he will lose his mind, gives Minty a weapon to defend himself.  He would rather Minty hurt or even kill him, than to hurt Minty.

BAD END:  Minty eventually convinces Tuna to get cured of his cannibalism through a procedure offered by the government.  Tuna is absolutely terrified as this was the last thing he ever wanted.  He has heard all the stories of what happens to Kitties that get the procedure and is thrown into full panic at the thought of getting it done.  He struggles with this for a long time before accepting that Minty is right.  This procedure is known to leave a Sprinkit changed though, and since Tuna was already so far gone, he returns severely different.  Tuna is no longer the person he used to be.  He doesnt enjoy the things he once did.  Racing is boring, games are boring, movies are boring.  Life is meaningless and he feels empty inside where his wide range of emotions use to be.  Tuna isn't the happy and playful Sprinkit he was in public, or the depressing Sprinkit he showed Minty behind closed doors.  He's nothing now and he realizes this change.  This is a heavy blow for Minty since he was the one to convince Tuna to undergo the procedure in the first place, and despite not being able to feel anymore, Tuna apologizes to him whether he really means it anymore or not.

Midori:  Tuna and Midori met at a party.  Midori found Tuna to be quite interesting since he is so popular and has a lot of scandals on the news, and thought it would be a good idea to get to know him.  Tuna was just minding his own business and smoking in the corner by himself when Midori walked up to him with one of his special cocktails and asked for a cigarette.  Tuna gave him one, of course, and gratefully accepted the drink with a sparkle in his eye.  Tuna already likes this guy, a special drink just for him?  Yay!  The two eventually got to talking.  Tuna was high...and probably a little drunk, like always.  They both agreed that the drinks being served at the party were pretty bad, thankfully Midori is a master of mixed drinks.  A few of Tuna's scandals were brought up, but honestly, after meeting Tuna in person, Midori got to know more about him than just the scandals.  Tuna is a pretty cool guy despite his total recklessness and, not to mention, his track record for not only winning a lot of races, but getting into a lot of crashes too.

Norbert:  Tuna and Norb and pretty close friends.  They like to hang out together when they've both got free time.  Unfortunately, Norbert's actions are often driven by his naivety and hunger for food, which tends to worry Tuna quite a bit.  Norbert trusts Tuna a lot, something that Tuna personally thinks is a pretty bad idea as hes not sure he can handle that responsibility; however, it's too late to go back now, so Tuna will do his best to take care of his friend.  Norbert will sometimes come over to Tuna's apartment to play games or watch a movie.  During one of these visits, Norbert consumes a few of Tuna's pills thinking they are candy and then washes it all down with some *red punch*, which is actually blood, that he finds in Tuna's fridge.  Tuna is shocked and a little scared but decides it would probably be best to just let it slide until the effect of the drugs wear off, and honestly, Norbert is better off not knowing if it just happens once right?
