As a beanling

Amethyst is an interesting case of a beanling, seeing as she actually has no recollection of being in her beanling stage at all. She was born from a wish for a peaceful holiday season, but in transporting the flowers that she formed in, her wisher accidentally knocked her out and into the snow outside without ever realizing she was there. With the fridged temperatures of the winter freezing everything, her dew couldn't form properly in order for her to wake up; And so, the little beanling was buried in the snow and slept soundly for weeks.

Blooming

Despite not being able to form her dew due to the cold, when Amethyst's wishes came true, the power from them still flowed back to her. That moment gave her enough magic to finally awake and to form her own magical dew, and to unbury herself from the snow. Alone and confused, the new flowerling drifted along for a while, observing holiday festivities that took place all around her. Eventually she made her way to a church, drawn in by the sound of carolling. She snuck in, and settled herself in one of the high-hanging wreaths to observe the merriment and Christmas festivities. The excitement of her first day caught up to her then, and she fell back to sleep watching over the celebration.

In Prism Vale

When she came to, Amethyst had appeared in Prism Vale, and found herself now surrounded by creatures that were much more similar to her than anyone she'd seen out in the world she was wished. She was greeted by kindly flowerlings, and as time went on she adjusted herself well. She eventually found herself drawn to Versii island, craving the familiar chill, and fell in love with the crystallized dew of New Year's in Prism Vale. She became fascinated with crystals and the magical dew that beanlings rely on, and her curiosity led her to become a part of the Order of Affinity. Over time she became rather skilled with her magic, as well as with using various crystals in order to interact with and channel it. With the time spent studying crystals and the dew of Versii, she began to compile guides and reports that eventually became commonplace reading for any beanlings who would like to specialize in any sort of magic.

These days, she crafts crystal tools and trinkets, usually inbued with magic or various charms. She can usually be found working with her partner, Ambrosia, as the two gather crystals and craft or study them. As they continue to make progress on understanding the magical properties of different stones, Amethyst continues to write up her reports and textbooks to be submitted to the Order of Affinity's libraries, as well as aiding her students in submitting their own reports. She sometimes volunteers to assist with classes or give her own lectures at the Versii campus of the Order, especially if other teachers ask, and periodically she'll take on beanlings with magic potential to be her apprentice one-on-one.
