― Gabriel

Gabriel is an archangel that acts as a messenger of Celeste, and is the older brother of Raphael yet is the younger brother of Michael as well; Gabriel really does mean well and is honest, but at the same time he's incredibly sarcastic and is quite horrible when it comes to making decisions. However, like his older brother, he too is hiding something...

Personality

As befitting an angel meant for communication, Gabriel is honest; afterall, the purpose of communication is to spread information. He’s also very hard to fool; it’s pointless trying to fool an angel of communication anyways, so why are you even doing it? It also helps that he’s very analytical and can pick up on small details other people might have not noticed. Despite the aforementioned, Gabriel is still quite optimistic and cheerful; he has always believed in things being for the best even if he is supposed to pick up on data trends, including the data trends that say otherwise. He’s also quite well-meaning and can actually be quite kind if he’s in the right mood; unfortunately, Gabriel just has very… bad ways of putting his good will into action. He’s quite confident and determined too, so it’s quite hard to get him to give up; he’s also intensely loyal to his loved ones and would do a lot of things for them. He’s also noted to be quite hardworking as well, despite his silly exterior.

However, a messenger has to bring both the good and bad news. Gabriel is extremely sarcastic and blunt; despite that, he’s often seen as too silly. He’s also very horrible when it comes to lying or otherwise concealing the truth; all the lies that he can come up with are either extremely obvious or are given away by him hesitating. Gabriel is also ironically dense when it comes to his own actions; sure he does mean well, but he can be blind to how other people can be affected by the actions he takes and the news that he delivers. He’s also overzealous in general; if given a task, he’ll go overkill and do way more than asked to. He’s also not the best at decision making; while yes, he can decipher any information and is skilled in extracting information, he can’t really put it to good use and make a decision. He’s also quite suspicious of other people; he often accidentally picks up little tics that might incriminate the person in his eyes even if the person was actually innocent. He’s also notoriously stubborn and will not change his mind, at least most of the time. Also… it’s worth mentioning that pissing Gabriel off can lead to very horrible consequences.

History

Gabriel along with his brothers, were created during the Celestial War by Celeste for the purpose of delivering messages and extracting information; his training was thus reliant on being able to distinguish truth from lie, to pick up on small details to figure out the underlying message, and to spread information as fast as possible without being found out. He was never really allowed to make any major decisions because “his job was to get information, not decide what to do with it,” and he had to follow the orders and decisions of his brother Michael and their boss Celeste.

Gabriel was a nervous child when he first entered training and he remembers his first journey as one filled with apprehension over whether he’d make it in time or not… overtime his job became easier, but delivering the bad news to people and seeing their faces change to utter sadness never became easier for him. In order to help him cope with the bad news, he started developing a more sarcastic and silly persona, more meant for him than the receivers of the message; he also started looking more towards the future in search of the happiness that wasn’t a major part in his present life.

Still, even if you try your best to deliver the bad news… some people might just be tempted to shoot the messenger. When the enemy side figured out Gabriel’s exact role in the War, they immediately saw him as a dangerous target; afterall, no matter how much planning they went through… their actions would have been for nothing if Gabriel could get a hold of their plans, extract the info, and then deliver it to a commander or whatever. The first few attempts on Gabriel’s life was absolutely awful for him; it made an already stressful job even worse as he worried whether he’d even make it to his destination… and then he’d have to worry whether the receiver would kill him just for the bad news or not. Then something happened that caused everyone to stop trying to kill him…

He fought back. Even if he wasn’t designed for a military role, he was still quite a strong archangel and though he sustained many injuries that required him to return he was able to send the message that no, he will not be weak and let them beat him up like that. Still, he never fully recovered from it; he was now suspicious of everyone and whether if they’d secretly try to make an attempt on his life one day or not. The fact that his younger brother Raphael was actually being secretly experimented upon also served to destroy his trust even more; if he couldn’t trust even Celeste, then who could he trust besides his brothers?

Abilities

Skillset

  • wip

Unique Abilities

  • The Truth Will Out (Revealing the truth) - Gabriel can see through any lies or facades created to hide the truth, and he can also remove these lies so that everyone can see the truth. However, the more true-sounding a lie is, the more effort is needed to reveal the truth.
  • CALM THE FUCK DOWN (...deescalating situations??) - Gabriel can deescalate conflicts just by his presence; this very obviously doesn’t work in war or anything of that sort, but he can easily resolve diplomatic conflict/verbal conflict just by showing up.
  • VROOM VROOM MOTHERFUCKERS - Gabriel has a motorcycle and he’s not afraid to use it; jokes aside, he’s very good at using the thing and he often uses it to just get to point A to point B very quickly… a very good thing if your job relies on how fast you can deliver messages.

Relationships

Raphael

Raphael is a frequent victim of Gabriel’s pranks and antics; Michael has to remind Gabriel that Raphael is still sick and shouldn’t be treated like that but Raphael often retorts back that he’s not that sick. Still, as much as Raphael dislikes Gabriel’s antics, they’re still very close; obviously not the closest relationship ever, but they’re still quite close. Gabriel’s also admittedly overprotective of Raphael; Raphael doesn’t like it at all and wishes that Gabriel would stop, however.

Michael

Michael is one of the biggest opposers of Gabriel’s antics; he finds Gabriel waaay too silly in general and he definitely thinks Gabriel should actually take his job seriously. That aside, they’re still quite close; as brothers, they naturally grew up with one another and developed a bond over the years. However with how often they seem to bicker, you’d be forgiven for thinking they just hate each other.

Celeste

Celeste is Gabriel's boss and creator. Gabriel feigns trust and loyalty for Celeste; in reality he resents her quite a lot because of the Archangel Project and its effects on Raphael. Celeste is however, clueless to his true feelings about her... right?

Trivia

  • Gabriel is fond of setting up tricks and pranks around the house. Woe is the archangel (read: Raphael usually) that runs into them…
  • Gabriel also has a trumpet; although it’s supposed to signal when Doomsday has arrived, if it’s blown on a regular day it’s perfectly harmless and doesn’t do anything. He really likes blowing it in his brothers’ faces.
  • Gabriel’s quite social and likes hanging out with friends and family!
